Chapter 17 – Powerful strength, swift speed

In the path of the charging Skeleton Sergeant, strange ripples like those on the surface of water suddenly appeared on both sides.

Immediately, several chains made entirely of spiritual power emerged from the space.

They swiftly shot forward.

In less than a second, the chains tightly bound the Skeleton Sergeant’s limbs and head.

The sudden appearance of the spiritual power chains caught the Skeleton Sergeant off guard.

Although the Skeleton Sergeant had a bit of intelligence, it was only slightly better than that of a Skeleton Soldier.

Compared to humans, it was still far inferior.

Bound by the chains, the Skeleton Sergeant stumbled to the ground due to the inertia of its charge.

Blood Phantom, having already received a hint from Ye Ling, would not easily let go of this rare opportunity.

Thanks to the use of Blood Fury, Blood Phantom’s strength and speed had skyrocketed.

“Crack!”

With a powerful push from her legs, she unleashed her full strength, causing cracks to appear on the solid ground where she stood.

The sudden burst of speed even stunned Ye Ling, her master.

Not to mention Huo Xian’er, who was observing the battle from a distance.

Blood Phantom transformed into a crimson bolt of lightning, appearing behind the bound Skeleton Sergeant in an instant.

Without a moment’s hesitation, she aimed at the Skeleton Sergeant’s head and delivered a fierce kick.

“Boom!!”

The enhanced strength was terrifying.

Dust and debris flew everywhere.

The other skeletons following the Skeleton Sergeant had their vision obscured by the smoke.

Unable to see their enemy, the skeletons had to stop in their tracks.

The loud explosion just now even made Ye Ling feel a slight tremor under his feet.

“What a pleasant surprise.”

Ye Ling smiled with satisfaction.

He had initially thought that the power boost from Blood Fury wouldn’t make Blood Phantom’s strength that formidable.

But now, it seemed that Blood Phantom’s sheer destructive power was not even inferior to Huo Xian’er’s Earth Azure Dragon.

It was definitely an unexpected delight.

“How is this possible?! Such immense strength!”

Even Huo Xian’er herself was now gaping in astonishment.

This was completely different from her understanding of zombies, worlds apart, in fact.

Zombies were strong, but their strength had limits.

Moreover, zombies were typically very slow.

But now, Ye Ling’s Zombie Spiritual Pet was moving with lightning speed.

If one wasn’t careful, it could easily slip out of sight.

Not only that, the immense strength it displayed was comparable to that of the Earth Azure Dragon.

How could this be possible?!

This was Huo Xian’er’s most genuine thought at the moment.

She had spent long hours battling outside the city to quickly level up her Earth Azure Dragon.

Her goal was to one day enter the top Spirit Tamer Academy.

She had been quite satisfied with her progress.

But now, seeing the power Blood Phantom displayed, Huo Xian’er found herself in a state of self-doubt.

Just a while ago, Ye Ling was only a First Rank, Second Level Spirit Tamer.

His Zombie Spiritual Pet was also just First Rank, Second Level.

To be honest, a First Rank, Second Level zombie wasn’t very useful.

Its slow, hopping movement couldn’t even catch up to a Skeleton Soldier.

But now, everything was completely different from what she knew.

The incredibly fast speed, the strength comparable to the Earth Azure Dragon—this was a monster.

And Ye Ling was still just a First Rank, Third Level Spirit Tamer.

Yet his First Rank, Third Level Zombie Spiritual Pet could easily crush a First Rank, Fifth Level Skeleton Sergeant.

The gap was indeed terrifying.

Back to Blood Phantom, after instantly eliminating the second Skeleton Sergeant, she stealthily moved through the smoke.

Ye Ling, standing atop the bone hill, could clearly see the situation below.

He had a clear view of all the skeletons’ positions, including the last Skeleton Sergeant.

Ye Ling directed Blood Phantom, who then sped towards the last Skeleton Sergeant.

She kept her body low, unnoticed by any skeletons.

Of course, this was also due to the skeletons’ poor perception.

If it were another type of Magic Beast with keen senses, they might have detected her.

Blood Phantom’s hands were enveloped in a blood-red aura, her originally black, sharp nails now appearing as blood claws.

They looked as if they had just been pulled from a pool of blood.

“Shhh!!”

Blood Phantom targeted the Skeleton Sergeant, closing in to within two meters.

She lowered her body slightly, her legs bursting with power once more.

She shot out from the smoke, her blood-red claws fiercely stabbing towards the Skeleton Sergeant’s head.

Witnessing this scene, Huo Xian’er had just recovered from her earlier shock and couldn’t help but feel a bit regretful.

“The hardest part of a skeleton is its head. Choosing to attack the hardest part is really unwise.”
