Ye Ling walked to the top of the Bone Hill and summoned Blood Phantom through the Spiritual Pet Seal.
A blood-red magic array appeared beside Ye Ling.
Immediately, a faint figure materialized next to him.
Watching from a distance, Huo Xian’er widened her eyes in disbelief.
Her beautiful eyes were filled with astonishment.
She couldn’t believe what she was seeing. Was this really the zombie spiritual pet of Ye Ling that the rumors spoke of?
This didn’t look like a zombie at all. It looked almost human.
And indeed, that was the case.
Blood Phantom, who had successfully evolved into a White-eyed Zombie, now looked almost indistinguishable from a human female.
Moreover, Ye Ling had dressed her in his own clothes, making her appearance even more human-like.
If Blood Phantom hadn’t been summoned through the Spiritual Pet Seal, Huo Xian’er would never have believed it.
What she was seeing now was almost enough to overturn her worldview.
“How is this possible?! A zombie, yet so beautiful?!”
Though she had great confidence in her own looks, being one of the campus belles of Skyshine City’s Higher Education Institution, she couldn’t help but feel a bit inferior to Blood Phantom.
Especially in terms of figure, she was slightly lacking.
“Is this Ye Ling’s trump card? This zombie… what exactly is going on? Is it a mutated spiritual pet, or… an evolved one?”
Snapping out of her shock, Huo Xian’er looked at Ye Ling’s back with a complicated expression.
It was common knowledge that zombies were spiritual pets that couldn’t evolve.
Throughout recorded history, no one had ever succeeded in evolving a zombie.
Some high-level Spirit Tamers, who were passionate about research, had even contracted zombie spiritual pets specifically to find a way to evolve them.
But as expected, they all failed.
If Ye Ling’s zombie had indeed evolved, it would undoubtedly cause a huge sensation.
This… was beyond Huo Xian’er’s expectations.
“Whether it has evolved or not… let me see your strength, to determine if you truly have the ability to survive here.”
Huo Xian’er took a deep breath and muttered to herself.
Meanwhile, Ye Ling finally took action.
As several Skeleton Sergeants separated, Ye Ling lightly gestured with his hand.
There was a special connection between a Spirit Tamer and their spiritual pet.
A Spirit Tamer could convey messages to their spiritual pet directly through their mind, without needing to speak.
Receiving the command, Blood Phantom, whose pure white eyes had only a small black dot in the center, locked onto the nearest Skeleton Sergeant.
Without hesitation, Blood Phantom leaped into the air.
She jumped down from the Bone Hill.
The Skeleton Sergeant below was evidently more alert than the Skeleton Soldiers.
Sensing something unusual, it suddenly raised its head.
Its hollow eyes met the descending Blood Phantom.
But the distance between them was already too close. Even if the Skeleton Sergeant wanted to dodge, it couldn’t.
Without a moment’s hesitation, it swiftly raised the bone shield on its left hand, preparing to block Blood Phantom’s attack.
Although Blood Phantom’s intelligence was still not very high, her combat instincts were extremely strong.
As the Skeleton Sergeant raised its shield, Blood Phantom twisted in mid-air.
She placed one hand on the bone shield, abandoning this attack opportunity.
Using the shield’s recoil, Blood Phantom quickly landed behind the Skeleton Sergeant.
Then, with lightning speed, she thrust her sharp claws forward.
“Shhh!”
A zombie’s body was incredibly tough, with defense even stronger than that of a skeleton.
Moreover, unlike skeletons, a zombie’s body was its weapon.
Especially the zombie’s claws, which were harder than the bone knives wielded by the Skeleton Sergeants.
Not only were they extremely sharp and hard, but they also contained corpse poison.
In an instant, Blood Phantom’s pitch-black claws pierced through the Skeleton Sergeant’s neck bone.
The Skeleton Sergeant’s head fell straight to the ground.
The commotion naturally attracted the attention of the other skeletons.
“Roar!”
The other Skeleton Sergeants roared and ordered an attack.
Although Blood Phantom was an undead spiritual pet, these skeletons wouldn’t show her any mercy as an intruder.
They all charged forward with their bone knives.
Low-level demons, except for a few rare types, generally didn’t possess any magical abilities.
They usually relied on weapons or their bodies for attacks.
Otherwise, Ye Ling wouldn’t have dared to let Blood Phantom attack so boldly.
When Blood Phantom eliminated the first Skeleton Sergeant, just like before, Ye Ling received a system prompt.
“Ding! Task issued: Eliminate twenty Skeleton Sergeants (0/20). Complete the task to receive 50% of the current spiritual pet’s experience progress and a spiritual pet-specific outfit.”
This task was similar to the previous one of eliminating Skeleton Soldiers.
It also offered 50% experience progress, and this time, there was an additional reward.
“A spiritual pet-specific outfit?”
Hearing this, Ye Ling frowned slightly.
He didn’t quite understand what this reward was. Was it just a set of clothes?
If that was the case, it didn’t seem very necessary.
