Passing through the long corridor, one massive door after another came into Ye Ling’s view.
Each door was numbered, ranging from one to six.
One represented a First Rank Secret Realm, while six represented a Sixth Rank Secret Realm.
The highest rank of Secret Realm in the Secret Realm Pavilion was the Sixth Rank.
The reason there were no higher-ranked Secret Realms was simply that the higher the rank, the less likely they were to appear in the wilderness.
Up until now, the highest rank Secret Realm that had appeared was a Seventh Rank Secret Realm.
However, within that Seventh Rank Secret Realm, an Eighth Rank Demon had appeared, causing significant trouble for those who ventured inside.
Eventually, the Federation successfully took control of this Seventh Rank Secret Realm, and it has since been housed in the Federation’s Secret Realm Pavilion.
Among the four major academies, the highest rank Secret Realm available was the Sixth Rank.
For the academy students, a Sixth Rank Secret Realm was more than sufficient. Many students might not even enter a Sixth Rank Secret Realm by the time they graduated.
Ye Ling stood between two doors, one leading to a First Rank Secret Realm and the other to a Second Rank Secret Realm.
He was hesitating, unsure which Secret Realm he should enter.
A First Rank Secret Realm was no challenge for him; he could handle it with ease. However, the demons in a First Rank Secret Realm were relatively weak.
The experience gained from battling them wouldn’t be substantial.
On the other hand, a Second Rank Secret Realm was significantly more dangerous, and Ye Ling couldn’t guarantee his safety over the three days he would spend inside.
Thus, Ye Ling found himself in a dilemma.
“Ding! Task issued: Explore the Second Rank Secret Realm. Complete the task to receive an unknown reward (based on the extent of exploration).”
Just as Ye Ling was about to head towards the First Rank Secret Realm on his left, the system suddenly issued a new task.
Well, that settled it. With a task reward on the line, how could Ye Ling refuse?
Although there might be some danger, risk and opportunity often go hand in hand, and the unknown reward was incredibly tempting.
Previously, he had triggered a task on the airship, and the reward was also unknown.
The final reward had been very satisfying for Ye Ling.
This time, it was an exploration task. A Secret Realm was no small place, and he had three days to explore it. Who knew how much he could uncover?
Arriving at the entrance of the Second Rank Secret Realm, Ye Ling pushed open the door and walked inside.
As soon as he entered, the door behind him closed automatically.
Looking at the array of Secret Realms displayed in the hall, Ye Ling was somewhat astonished.
There were quite a few Second Rank Secret Realms here, at least ten or more.
The sheer number of Secret Realms was enough to make anyone envious.
The higher the rank of the Secret Realm, the fewer there were.
Ye Ling had no idea how many materials and treasures these ten or so Second Rank Secret Realms contained.
But even if there were no materials, Ye Ling would still go in.
There was a wealth of experience waiting for him.
In front of each Secret Realm entrance stood a brief introduction to the Secret Realm.
These Secret Realms included scorching volcanoes, frigid ice fields, boundless oceans, and more.
After reading the introductions for each Secret Realm, Ye Ling chose one that combined plains and forests.
The volcano was too hot, the ice field too cold, and the ocean meant being soaked in water. Therefore, the plains and forest were more suitable for Ye Ling.
Arriving at the chosen Secret Realm entrance, Ye Ling aimed his wristwatch at the entrance.
A faint glow extended from the Secret Realm entrance, forming a passageway before Ye Ling.
Seeing the passageway form, Ye Ling stepped into it.
Once Ye Ling entered the passage, it slowly dissipated, and the hall returned to normal.
…
Inside the Second Rank Secret Realm, on a plain, a circular door suddenly appeared, and a figure stepped out.
That figure was, of course, Ye Ling.
As he stepped out of the circular door, it vanished behind him.
At this moment, the sky in the Second Rank Secret Realm was dark, with rolling clouds and no sunlight.
Looking into the distance, Ye Ling could clearly see numerous demons roaming the plain.
There were First Rank demons, and quite a few Second Rank demons as well.
To Ye Ling, these demons were all the same—each one a source of experience.
Seeing these walking sources of experience, Ye Ling’s lips curled into a smile, and he summoned two of his Spiritual Pets.
“Alright, let’s start exploring. Blood Phantom, Feng Jiu, it’s time to get to work.”
A blood-red figure landed beside Ye Ling, and a fiery-red figure perched on his shoulder.
“Hmm? Where is this? I thought we were going home,” Feng Jiu said, her emerald eyes filled with confusion as she looked around at the strange place.
