Upon seeing Principal Vermilion Bird, Ye Ling was instantly speechless.
This meeting was entirely different from what he had imagined.
He had wanted to see what Principal Vermilion Bird looked like, but to his surprise, she was wearing a golden mask.
He couldn't see her face at all, which dashed his initial curiosity.
The principal glanced at Hong Xiu and Ye Ling, her cold voice echoing once more.
"Hong Xiu, don't just stand at the door. If you have something to say, come in."
"Yes, Principal."
With a nod, Hong Xiu led Ye Ling into the enormous office.
Curiously, Ye Ling took in the surroundings. This office was exceptionally large.
Even in his previous life, Ye Ling had never seen such a big office, especially one occupied by just a principal.
Perhaps she liked reading, as bookshelves lined both sides of the room, filled with numerous books.
"Is this Ye Ling?"
Principal Vermilion Bird's gaze fixed on Ye Ling as she asked.
Facing the principal's question, Hong Xiu naturally answered without hesitation.
"Yes, Principal, this is Ye Ling."
The office fell silent for a moment, with Principal Vermilion Bird's sharp eyes staring straight at Ye Ling.
Those piercing eyes seemed to see right through him.
Though slightly uncomfortable, Ye Ling could sense that Principal Vermilion Bird bore no ill will towards him.
"Not bad. To reach the Second Rank Spirit Tamer at your age is quite impressive."
Despite her words, Principal Vermilion Bird was inwardly very pleased with Ye Ling.
Even in the Sacred City, it was rare to hear of a student reaching the Second Rank before entering the academy.
Principal Vermilion Bird then posed another question.
"I heard that you mastered Second Level spiritual techniques while still at the First Rank. Is that true?"
Ye Ling glanced at Hong Xiu, puzzled. He believed Hong Xiu had already informed Principal Vermilion Bird of this.
Sensing Ye Ling's gaze, Hong Xiu gave a barely noticeable nod, signaling him to speak freely.
Understanding why Hong Xiu had advised him not to be too reserved, Ye Ling answered calmly.
"Yes, Principal, I did master Second Level spiritual techniques while at the First Rank."
As soon as Ye Ling finished speaking, Principal Vermilion Bird asked another question.
"And now, have you mastered Third Level spiritual techniques?"
This question was quite demanding.
For a Second Rank Spirit Tamer to master Third Level spiritual techniques was nearly impossible within the Federation.

Work hard, Ye Ling. To admit you into Vermilion Bird Academy, I broke the academy's long-standing rules.
Don't disappoint me, and I hope my decision was the right one."
Principal Vermilion Bird's cool voice lingered in Ye Ling's ears.
