As they stepped off the airship, the intense sunlight was blinding, making it hard to keep their eyes open.
Under the glaring sun, Ye Ling and Yun Yi both shielded their eyes with their hands.
After a moment of adjustment, they finally lowered their hands.
Looking around, the entire landing pad of Vermilion Bird Academy was enormous, filled with various airships.
However, they all had one thing in common: each airship bore the emblem of Vermilion Bird Academy.
The airship Ye Ling had traveled on was considered small among these airships.
After all, Skyshine City was too far away, and even if they could recruit students, the number was very limited.
Airships heading to larger cities naturally recruited more students, and thus, the airships were much bigger.
“Wow! It’s so huge!” Yun Yi exclaimed, her eyes wide with amazement.
It was no wonder she was surprised, seeing so many neatly arranged airships in one place. In Skyshine City, you would never see so many airships.
Ye Ling, on the other hand, had already seen Sacred City and could guess how vast the landing pad would be, so he wasn’t as surprised. However, seeing the largest airship, which was several times bigger than the one they had taken, he couldn’t help but smile wryly.
This was the difference between a small remote city and a big city; even the airships they used were vastly different.
Hong Xiu wasn’t surprised at all by the students’ reactions.
Even students from big cities would be amazed when they arrived at Sacred City, let alone Ye Ling and Yun Yi from Skyshine City.
Hong Xiu smiled and pointed to a nearby vehicle.
“Alright, no need to be so surprised. Follow me, there’s a special car to take us to Vermilion Bird Academy. From now on, this city will be your home.”
Hong Xiu led the way, with the two following closely behind, and they quickly reached the car.
“Teacher Hong, welcome back,” the female driver greeted with a smile.
Hong Xiu nodded in response.
“Take us back to the academy. I believe we’re the last group to arrive?”
“That’s right, all the other teachers from different cities have already arrived. You’re the last group.”
When the driver noticed a male student among the newcomers, she was so shocked that her mouth fell open, momentarily forgetting what she was supposed to do.
It was understandable. She had been a driver for many years and had never seen a male student enter Vermilion Bird Academy.
This time, it was the first in history.
“Th-this… Teacher Hong, he… he…”
The female driver stammered, unable to express her thoughts.
Seeing her shock, Hong Xiu didn’t blame her.
Besides the principal and herself, no one else at Vermilion Bird Academy knew that they had recruited the first male student in history.
The rule that Vermilion Bird Academy only accepted female students was deeply ingrained. It was understandable that she was so surprised by the sudden inclusion of a male student.
Glancing at Ye Ling behind her, Hong Xiu smiled and said, “Yes, he is one of the students I recruited this time. Don’t worry, the principal is aware of this.”

Hearing this from Hong Xiu, the driver had nothing more to say. It wasn’t her place to question it.
“Let’s get going then.”
As she spoke, the female driver started the car, though somewhat clumsily.

The car slowly moved forward, heading into the city.
While driving, the female driver occasionally glanced at Ye Ling in the rearview mirror, her curiosity getting the better of her.
“Teacher Hong, why did the academy suddenly decide to recruit a male student this year? Did they change the rules?”
If the academy had changed the rules, none of the other teachers she had picked up had brought back a male student. Only Hong Xiu had.
Naturally, she was curious if the academy had changed its rules.
Everyone loves a bit of gossip, and she was no exception.
Hearing the driver’s question, Hong Xiu shook her head slightly and denied it.
“No, the academy’s rule of only recruiting female students still stands.”
The driver was even more puzzled by this answer. Ye Ling was clearly a boy, which didn’t fit the rule.
