Ye Ling took out the somewhat scorching spiritual pet egg from his system space.
He placed the egg in front of him, preparing for the contract ceremony.
The ceremony was quite simple—far from complicated.
One just needed to inscribe their name on the egg with their own blood to complete the contract.
Having just shed blood earlier, Ye Ling sighed, thinking he should have used that blood for the contract.
“Ah!”
With a helpless sigh, he picked up a small knife and made a cut on his right index finger, letting the blood seep out.
Quickly, he wrote his name on the spiritual pet egg. By the time he finished, the wound on his hand had already healed.
As soon as Ye Ling finished writing his name with his blood, the previously motionless fiery red egg began to stir.
It wobbled slightly.
Then, a burst of flames enveloped the egg, emitting radiant beams of light.
The wing-like markings on the egg glowed with a crimson hue.
As time passed, the crimson light grew brighter, illuminating the entire room.
The dazzling red light completely enveloped the egg, making it hard for Ye Ling to see what was happening.
Blood Phantom, however, remained unaffected by the bright red light, standing obediently in place.
The crimson light persisted for quite some time, even reflecting off the windows of Ye Ling’s room on the Vermilion Bird airship.
In the dark night, the red light was particularly striking.
On the Black Tortoise Academy airship to the left of the Vermilion Bird airship, Huo Ling, who was not resting in her room, immediately noticed the dazzling red light.
She quickly sat up.
“What is that? So dazzling… Could it be… Hong Xiu?”
Her first thought upon seeing the red light was Hong Xiu.
But then she reconsidered, finding it unlikely.
Hong Xiu wouldn’t release her spiritual pet inside the airship, especially not the Fire Kite, which was too large to fit in a room.
“Who could it be? A fire-attribute spiritual pet?”
After a brief thought, Huo Ling still couldn’t figure it out.
She never considered that it might be Ye Ling contracting his second spiritual pet.
Ye Ling was already a genius, but Huo Ling didn’t think he could break through to the Second Rank so quickly.
Unable to make sense of it, Huo Ling could only let it go, admiring the beautiful crimson light.
As time passed, the red light gradually faded.
“Is it over?”
Huo Ling murmured as she watched the red light in the airship dim.
Back in Ye Ling’s room, the crimson light finally dissipated, revealing Ye Ling’s eagerly awaited second spiritual pet.
A fiery red bird, surrounded by orange flames, hovered quietly in mid-air.
It wasn’t very large, with a wingspan of about 1.5 meters and a body length of about 1 meter, sporting a pair of sharp, gleaming claws.
It had a long, splendid fiery red tail feather trailing behind it.
Its emerald green eyes were particularly vivid, staring intently at Ye Ling.
Seeing his second spiritual pet, Ye Ling was momentarily dazed, a name escaping his lips.
“Phoenix?”
The appearance of the spiritual pet left Ye Ling with no other name to call it.
At that moment, the information about his second spiritual pet appeared before him.

Seeing these stats, Ye Ling was initially stunned.
When he came to his senses, he was ecstatic.
Goodness!
As expected of a system-given spiritual pet, it was incredibly powerful, directly an Epic-level Phoenix Bird.
Ye Ling had previously mentioned “Phoenix,” referring not to a single bird, but two types.
Phoenixes refer to Feng Birds (male) and Huang Birds (female), collectively known as Phoenixes.
And Ye Ling’s pet was a female Huang Bird.
However, what puzzled Ye Ling was why his Huang Bird lacked the legendary Phoenix’s supreme ability.
Rebirth!
This was the most powerful ability of the Phoenix. Even if it died, it wouldn’t truly die but would be reborn in Phoenix Fire.
After rebirth, the Phoenix would regain all its strength.
But Ye Ling’s Huang Bird lacked the ability of Rebirth, which left Ye Ling feeling quite awkward.
