“Alright, it’s getting late. Get up, let’s make something to eat, and then I’ll start hunting.”
Ye Ling stood up from the ground, dusted off his clothes, and began preparing breakfast.
Breakfast was just some meat from the demons they had hunted earlier. Due to limited supplies, he could only make do with what they had.
After finishing all this, Ye Ling noticed that Huo Xian’er was still sitting there, seemingly still upset.
With a slight sigh, Ye Ling walked over to Huo Xian’er and handed her some food.
“Come on, Young Lady Huo, hurry up. I’m very busy. After you eat, I have things to do.”
“Hmph!”
The only response was a cold snort.
Huo Xian’er didn’t even glance at the food in Ye Ling’s hand, still angry about what had happened earlier.
Ye Ling squatted down slowly, grabbed Huo Xian’er’s hand, and placed the food in it, reminding her sternly.
“Eat quickly. If I finish and you’re still not eating, don’t blame me for leaving you here.”
After saying that, Ye Ling turned around and went back to his breakfast.
As for Huo Xian’er, the aroma of the food in her hand made her stomach rumble.
She had wanted to retort that she didn’t need to eat this, but her stomach betrayed her with a loud growl.
Thinking back, she hadn’t eaten anything since last night and had held out until now.
It was only natural to be hungry. If she didn’t eat, she might not be able to keep up with Ye Ling when he left.
Since Ye Ling had already said they would leave soon, she had to fill her stomach to keep up with him.
Thinking this, Huo Xian’er glared at Ye Ling and muttered under her breath.
“Insensitive jerk! Doesn’t even know how to comfort someone, hmph!”
Although she was still unhappy, Huo Xian’er wouldn’t mistreat her own stomach.
She began eating the food in large bites. Despite the lack of seasoning, her hunger made it taste delicious.
Ye Ling, enjoying his breakfast, saw Huo Xian’er finally eating and smiled slightly.
Soon, breakfast time was over.
Ye Ling set off with Huo Xian’er.
Now, only half a day remained.
In this half-day, Ye Ling wanted to defeat as many demons as possible to gain more experience and growth.
This would help Blood Phantom complete the next stage of her plan sooner.
Once she evolved again, Blood Phantom’s strength would surely increase.
She might even unlock more powerful skills or talents.
“Ye Ling, can’t we just stay where we were? Why take the risk?”
Following behind, Huo Xian’er wasn’t sure what Ye Ling was up to.
But she knew he was looking for something.
Eventually, Huo Xian’er realized Ye Ling was hunting demons.
Every time they found a demon or a group of demons, Ye Ling would take them down.
What was once a terrifying Secret Realm now felt like a sightseeing tour to Huo Xian’er.
They walked here and there, and she never had to lift a finger.
Every demon they encountered was effortlessly killed by Ye Ling’s spiritual pet, Blood Phantom.
Because it was too dark last night, Huo Xian’er hadn’t seen Blood Phantom clearly.
Today, she saw that Blood Phantom’s appearance was no less beautiful than her own, and her figure was even better.
If she didn’t know Blood Phantom was a spiritual pet, Huo Xian’er might have thought she was human.
Though she didn’t want to admit it, Huo Xian’er was indeed jealous.
If others knew Huo Xian’er was jealous of a spiritual pet, they’d probably laugh their heads off.
“Damn it! What a pervert! Even his spiritual pet is so beautiful!”
Seeing Blood Phantom’s exquisite face and tall figure, this was Huo Xian’er’s truest thought.
Her own looks and figure weren’t bad, yet Ye Ling ignored her, a great beauty. Did that mean she wasn’t attractive?
Thinking this, Huo Xian’er got even angrier.
Time flew by, and soon the morning was over.
Compared to the numerous fierce demons at night, most daytime demons were much weaker.
All morning, they didn’t encounter any demons above First Rank, Seventh Level.
But even the smallest gain was still a gain. Ye Ling didn’t let any demon go.
He skillfully went through the routine.
Blood Phantom would kill the demon, and Ye Ling would dissect the materials. Their teamwork was perfect.
“Congratulations, candidate Ye Ling, for successfully passing the first stage of the assessment.”
“Congratulations, candidate Huo Xian’er, for successfully passing the first stage of the assessment.”
As noon approached, the watches on their wrists finally beeped with a notification.
This sound signaled the end of the first stage of the assessment.
