Chapter 52 – Despair

How could Ye Ling not recognize Liu Wu?

That annoying guy actually came over to his side, which was quite surprising.

Moreover, judging by Liu Wu’s pale face and bloodshot eyes, it was clear that Liu Wu was in a very bad state.

Looking at his hurried appearance, it seemed like he was being chased by something.

Liu Wu had been fleeing all night. When he saw the thick fog early in the morning, he felt a bit relieved, thinking that if he couldn’t see clearly in the fog, then the demons in the sky probably couldn’t either.

But clearly, Liu Wu had guessed wrong.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t be in such a panic now.

The Black Feather Eagle, which had been pursuing Liu Wu and the Venomous Scale Python, had sharp eyes that, although couldn’t completely penetrate the fog, could still make out some outlines.

And as long as it could see the outline of the Venomous Scale Python, that was enough.

The Black Feather Eagle continued to follow them unhurriedly from the sky.

“This guy, it looks like he’s being chased by some demon. There’s nothing on the ground, could it be… from the sky?”

Ye Ling couldn’t help but speculate on what kind of demon was chasing Liu Wu, to make him end up in such a sorry state.

One had to know that although Liu Wu wasn’t the strongest among the students, he was still a First Rank Fifth Level Spirit Tamer.

With his Venomous Scale Python, ordinary First Rank demons couldn’t do much to him.

But now Liu Wu was running like a rat, which meant the demon chasing him was either at least First Rank Eighth Level or a natural enemy of Liu Wu’s spiritual pet.

Since there was nothing on the ground, it had to be from the sky.

“Screech!”

A piercing cry came from the sky.

The loud sound echoed through the clouds.

Just from hearing this sound, Ye Ling could basically confirm that this was the demon chasing Liu Wu.

“Whoosh, whoosh!”

A gust of wind blew, dispersing much of the thick fog.

The Venomous Scale Python, already exhausted, was exposed.

It had been fleeing since midnight without stopping.

After a long journey, it finally arrived here, and it had to ensure Liu Wu didn’t fall off its back.

The Venomous Scale Python was indeed exhausted.

It collapsed weakly to the ground, not moving, its tongue flicking in and out.

As the Venomous Scale Python collapsed, Liu Wu naturally rolled to the ground.

“Ah!”

Touching the wound on his left arm, Liu Wu’s veins bulged on his forehead, and he couldn’t help but cry out in pain.

The intense pain cleared the fatigue from his mind.

After fleeing all night, Liu Wu was on the verge of a mental breakdown.

His eyes were bloodshot, filled with veins.

To those who didn’t know, it might seem like he was possessed by an evil spirit.

“Damn it! Get up! Keep running! Get up!…”

Clutching his wound, Liu Wu angrily roared at the Venomous Scale Python.

After struggling through the night, Liu Wu didn’t want to give up now.

He kicked the Venomous Scale Python repeatedly, filled with unwillingness.

He wasn’t weak. Although he couldn’t compare to the geniuses of other families, he was at least stronger than his classmates.

His father had always put immense pressure on him, which twisted Liu Wu’s heart.

To become stronger, Liu Wu was willing to do anything.

He wanted to surpass his father, to show him how strong his son had become!

But now, before his dreams even began, they were about to shatter. How could Liu Wu accept that?

If he failed the Spirit Tamer Academy assessment, he would lose everything from his family.

As the young master of the Liu Family, failing the assessment meant losing his status.

He would become a useless person.

This wasn’t what Liu Wu wanted; he had many unfulfilled ambitions.

He couldn’t accept falling here.

Despite being kicked repeatedly, the Venomous Scale Python remained motionless.

Spiritual pets had intelligence too.

It had done its best to help its master, but was treated like this in return.

The Venomous Scale Python was now disheartened.

It didn’t want to move anymore. Whoever wanted to move could do it themselves.

“Screech!”

Another piercing cry came from the sky.

Liu Wu, still venting his anger, was startled and looked up in terror.

A dark figure was staring at him with sharp eyes.

Liu Wu hesitated, unsure whether to press the emergency teleport button in his hand.

If he pressed it, he would be saved but lose his chance to enter the Spirit Tamer Academy.

If he didn’t press it, he might die here, leaving no remains.

At this moment, a rustling sound came from nearby.

Almost in despair, Liu Wu quickly looked over.

To his shock, he saw someone he hated to the core appear before him.
