Chapter 33 – Within the Secret Realm, Steel-winged Bird

Originally, Ye Ling should have been able to see the students who entered the passage ahead of him.

However, after entering the passage, he found no trace of anyone else.

It seemed that each person took a different path upon entering the Secret Realm passage.

Crossing through the passage, Ye Ling finally arrived at the source of the light.

Although the light wasn’t blinding, he couldn’t see what lay outside.

Without thinking much, Ye Ling stepped out directly.

In the First Rank Secret Realm.

This Secret Realm, specifically used by the Federation for assessments, was incredibly vast.

Within the Secret Realm, there were mountains, forests, rivers, and hills—various terrains of all kinds.

As the students participating in the assessment stepped out of the passage, identical illusory gates appeared in various locations within the Secret Realm, just like the ones on the plaza.

The distance between each gate was at least several kilometers.

Without exception, everyone was separated far apart.

The moment they stepped out of the gate, the mist-like illusory gates vanished.

Ye Ling’s situation was no different.

However, the moment Ye Ling landed, he felt a chill run through his body.

Surveying his surroundings, Ye Ling couldn’t help but feel a bit speechless.

Goodness! He had been transported to the mountaintop!

No wonder it felt so cold the moment he stepped out.

Standing on the mountaintop, how could it not be cold?

Looking around, Ye Ling knew he couldn’t just wait silently on the mountaintop.

Given his current state, he wouldn’t last long.

The low temperatures on the mountaintop were unbearable for anyone over time.

To survive in the Secret Realm, one had to rely on their Spiritual Pet.

Therefore, for his safety, Ye Ling immediately summoned Blood Phantom from the Spiritual Pet Seal.

A flash of blood-red light, and Blood Phantom, dressed in a red feathered robe, stood gracefully before Ye Ling.

“Let’s go, we need to get down the mountain first.”

Saying this to Blood Phantom, Ye Ling began to search for a way down the mountain.

The fact that he had been transported to this location meant it was reachable by human means.

Since he had been transported to the mountaintop, there had to be a way down.

Sure enough, after a short search, Ye Ling successfully found a path down the mountain.

Although the path was a bit rugged, it was the only way down.

So, he had no choice but to take it.

Unlike Blood Phantom, Ye Ling’s body wasn’t as tough, so he had to be very careful going down.

Fortunately, Blood Phantom could help; as long as the distance was manageable, she could directly carry Ye Ling down.

The thrill Ye Ling felt was intense!

His heart pounded rapidly.

Although he was a Spirit Tamer, his physical condition wasn’t much different from an ordinary human.

Unless he reached the Fifth Rank, he couldn’t draw upon the power of his Spiritual Pet from the seal.

However, that path was still a bit distant for Ye Ling.

But it wasn’t too far off; given the current situation, Ye Ling felt it wouldn’t take long to reach the Fifth Rank.

“Squawk!!”

As Ye Ling descended about halfway, a sharp cry suddenly echoed from the sky.

Looking up, he saw a large bird with a wingspan of about two meters circling in the sky.

“A Steel-winged Bird. Judging by the wingspan, it should be a fledgling.”

Upon seeing the bird, Ye Ling immediately recognized it.

A Steel-winged Bird in its juvenile stage, roughly at the Fourth Level of the First Rank, with wings as hard as steel.

Indeed, a wingspan of two meters, and it was still just a fledgling Magic Beast.

From what Ye Ling knew about adult Steel-winged Birds, their wingspans were at least five meters.

The Steel-winged Bird before him was clearly far from that.

If it were an adult Steel-winged Bird, there would be no point in fighting.

Adult Steel-winged Birds were typically Fourth Rank Magic Beasts.

Given Ye Ling’s current level, not even at the Second Rank, encountering a Fourth Rank Steel-winged Bird would leave him with little chance of survival.

The Steel-winged Bird circling in the sky had its eyes fixed on Ye Ling’s position.

No doubt, the Steel-winged Bird had already marked Ye Ling as its prey.

Higher ground didn’t necessarily mean safety.

This entire area was the domain of Demons, including the sky.

Moreover, some solitary Demons might be hiding in mountain caves.

“Squawk!!”

With a sharp cry, the Steel-winged Bird dove down without hesitation, speeding towards Ye Ling like an arrow.

“Really, it just had to cause trouble.”

If it had been the newly system-awakened Ye Ling, he might have been a bit apprehensive.

But the current Ye Ling and Blood Phantom were different.

“Blood Phantom, show it how a bird should behave.”

A cold glint flashed in Ye Ling’s eyes as he spoke to Blood Phantom beside him.
