“I’ll reserve my opinion for now.”
Under the gaze of the crowd, Terra Su shook his head and said.
Immediately, disappointment flashed in everyone’s eyes. What was this? This was the person endorsed by the three great Alchemists, yet he couldn’t even identify an ancient relic and was too timid to voice his judgment.
Alchemists, due to their strong soul power, should have a unique advantage in identifying ancient relics. Yet now, facing an ancient relic, Terra Su said nothing, leaving the crowd disappointed and their impression of him plummeting.
In contrast to the crowd’s disappointment, Lou Jun almost burst into laughter. See, his initial judgment was correct; Terra Su was just a nobody, and the so-called endorsement by the three great Alchemists was just an inflated false halo.
Amidst the disdainful gazes, Terra Su remained calm, as if he didn’t care about anyone’s opinion.
Even the Third Prince couldn’t help but show a hint of surprise, giving Terra Su a deep look. Had he overestimated Terra Su earlier? Was this guy really empty-headed?
The black jug in front of them was clearly just a large wine jug. What was there to reserve an opinion about?
“Actually, there’s still half a jug of wine in here,” Xueying spoke again.
What?
Wine?
The crowd couldn’t believe their ears, almost thinking they had misheard.
Even the Third Prince was suddenly taken aback, his eyes flashing with incredulous light. “Could it be the spiritual wine once consumed by ancient powerhouses?”
Lou Jun’s pupils also contracted, showing a look of anticipation. “If that’s the case, just a sip could bring great benefits, maybe even directly raise one’s cultivation level by a grade.”
For those who had reached the Transforming Realm, advancing another level was extremely difficult. But if they could obtain such a naturally rich spiritual wine, advancing a level was not impossible.
“Third Prince, and the two gentlemen, would you like to have a taste?” Xueying inquired.
“What?” The Third Prince was stunned. “Xueying, do you mean the owner of Sleeping Moon Tower is willing to let us taste the wine in this jug?”
That was an exceptionally rare ancient spiritual wine. Just a sip might elevate someone to a higher realm. Would the owner of Sleeping Moon Tower really be willing to let them taste such a precious thing?
Xueying nodded and said, “Actually, the owner of Sleeping Moon Tower has tasted the wine in this jug before but found the taste somewhat peculiar, quite different from the imagined ancient spiritual wine. However, the owner couldn’t determine exactly what the wine was, so today, he wishes to invite you to taste it and help determine whether it is indeed ancient spiritual wine.”
This made sense.
If the owner of Sleeping Moon Tower had confirmed it was ancient spiritual wine, he would have kept it for himself long ago, rather than letting others taste it.
Nevertheless, the Third Prince and Lou Jun still felt like they had struck it lucky.
To them, the wine in this jug was very likely ancient spiritual wine, and being able to taste it for free was undoubtedly a huge gain.
“If it’s about tasting wine, I’m the most suitable for the job.”
Lou Jun confidently patted his chest. “Without being modest, there’s probably no wine in the entire Cloud Abyss Empire that I haven’t tasted. Even the famous wines of the capital, I’ve tried them all. Entrusting me with this wine-tasting task is the most appropriate.”
The Third Prince also showed a hint of agreement, knowing well Lou Jun’s reputation as a wine enthusiast. Moreover, the Lou family’s business was related to wine, making Lou Jun an ideal candidate to judge this wine.
“In that case, let Brother Lou and Terra Su have a taste first,” the Third Prince said. Although he was eager to taste the wine, as a prince, he had to maintain a certain demeanor and couldn’t let his desire for the wine show on his face.
Thus, the Third Prince could only bury his longing for the wine in his heart, while outwardly maintaining a gracious and gentle appearance.
“Haha, then I won’t hold back.”
Lou Jun laughed confidently.
“Terra Su, would you like to taste it?” Xueying asked Terra Su again.
Before Terra Su could answer, Lou Jun scoffed, “Miss Xueying, you don’t need to ask him. He knows nothing about ancient relics, so it’s unlikely he’d be able to discern what this wine is. Letting him taste such precious wine would be a waste.”
Xueying thought for a moment and still took out two cups, pouring two small servings of wine. She handed one to Lou Jun and the other to Terra Su.
However, just as she placed the cup in front of Terra Su, he quickly waved his hand to refuse, “I don’t need it.”
Moreover, as Terra Su spoke, he even took a few steps back, as if the wine in the cup was some kind of monster he couldn’t avoid quickly enough.
Seeing this, Xueying looked at Terra Su with confusion.
Lou Jun laughed out loud, “Miss Xueying, see, he’s afraid to take the cup, which means he’s hiding something. He knows he won’t be able to discern anything from tasting it, and would only waste the rare spiritual wine.”
“Terra Su, watch closely and see the difference between a commoner like you and a noble like me.”
With that, Lou Jun raised the cup, ready to drink.
Just as he brought the cup to his lips, Terra Su unexpectedly said, “Since we’re both here for the Third Prince’s banquet, I’ll give you a piece of advice: it’s best not to drink this wine.”
The Third Prince looked at Terra Su with some surprise and asked, “Terra Su, have you discovered something?”
Lou Jun snorted coldly, “If you’re too afraid to taste it, don’t stop me. I’m not like you; I’m an expert in wine tasting.”
With that, Lou Jun ignored Terra Su and tilted his head back, gulping down the wine in the cup.
After drinking, Lou Jun wiped his mouth with his sleeve, smacking his lips as if he hadn’t had enough.
However, as Terra Su watched Lou Jun drink the wine, his expression grew even more peculiar.
“Young Master Lou, any insights?” Xueying asked expectantly.
“It’s truly excellent wine, a wine that should only exist in the heavens. This is definitely spiritual wine.” Lou Jun licked his lips, seemingly enjoying it immensely.
Afterward, Lou Jun pondered for a moment and said, “But this wine, besides the rich aroma of spiritual wine, has another peculiar taste. Even I have never tasted anything like it.”
As Lou Jun spoke, he smacked his lips, trying hard to discern what that taste was.
