Isaac Hua clearly had the upper hand. As he fought, he continuously taunted Julian Xue, appearing quite relaxed.
However, in reality, Isaac wasn’t as at ease as he seemed. Deep down, he harbored a significant fear of Julian.
Over the past six months, Julian had challenged him almost every month. Initially, Isaac didn’t take it seriously, but he gradually noticed that every time Julian was beaten half to death, he would return to full health within half a month. From what Isaac knew, Julian’s family couldn’t possibly afford expensive healing elixirs. So how did he recover so quickly?
Isaac never found an answer to this question, and Julian would always challenge him again once his wounds were fully healed. As this happened repeatedly, Isaac’s apprehension grew.
The most troubling part was that after several encounters, Isaac realized Julian didn’t even have any lingering injuries. It was bizarre—without healing elixirs, how could he recover so well? This wasn’t a normal human constitution.
Moreover, Julian was incredibly stubborn. Once he set his mind on something, he would persistently challenge Isaac until he won. Isaac couldn’t refuse him; doing so would be tantamount to admitting he was afraid of Julian, which he couldn’t allow.
Thus, Julian became a thorn in Isaac’s side, like a piece of gum he couldn’t shake off, incredibly annoying. Today, Isaac was determined to find an opportunity to eliminate Julian, no matter what.
Even though Julian’s death might cause some trouble and the academy might punish him, Isaac believed that with his abilities, he could make it look like an accident. With some maneuvering from the Hua family, he wouldn’t face severe punishment.
After dozens of moves, Isaac finally spotted an opening and struck at Julian’s heart with a sudden palm attack.
“Die.”
Isaac thought to himself.
Whoosh!
Just then, a pebble shot through the air like a meteor, striking Isaac’s wrist.
Isaac felt a sharp pain in his wrist; the pebble had hit an acupoint, disrupting the flow of True Essence in his entire arm. He had to withdraw his hand and immediately looked around.
“Who is it!”
Isaac shouted angrily. This was a duel—who dared to interfere was simply courting death.
He scanned the crowd, and everyone he looked at lowered their heads, except for one person who stood calmly in the circle, meeting his gaze. It was Terra Su.
In an instant, Isaac was sure that the pebble had been thrown by Terra.
“Who are you, kid, daring to interfere in a duel? Don’t you know that according to Anyang Academy’s rules, meddling in a duel is a serious offense?”
Isaac glared at Terra with displeasure. Where did this kid come from, daring to ruin his plans?
Terra replied calmly, “I don’t know how serious it is, but I do know that you were clearly trying to kill your opponent. According to Anyang Academy’s rules, is it permissible to kill during a duel?”
Isaac was left speechless by Terra’s words. After a long pause, he coldly snorted, “What do you mean, trying to kill? Do you have any evidence?”
After speaking, Isaac smiled smugly. He knew that none of the onlookers would dare testify that he had tried to kill Julian.
“Kid, meddling in others’ affairs never ends well,” Isaac threatened Terra.
Terra shrugged, “Is that so? Well, I’m going to meddle anyway. Let’s see how it doesn’t end well.”
With that, Terra ignored Isaac and turned to Julian.
Just when Isaac thought Terra was all talk, he heard Terra say to Julian, “Channel your True Essence to the Tian Shu and Jing Zhong acupoints, then target his lower body.”
Julian looked at Terra with skepticism, unsure whether to trust his advice. However, he thought to himself that he was bound to lose anyway, so he might as well try Terra’s suggestion, treating a dead horse as if it were alive.
With renewed vigor, Julian let out a deep shout and followed Terra’s instructions, channeling his True Essence to the Tian Shu and Jing Zhong acupoints, and struck at Isaac!
Isaac immediately countered, but as soon as they clashed, he noticed a difference. Julian’s strikes had become exceptionally fierce, with at least thirty percent more power than before!
“How is this possible?”
Isaac was incredulous. Could a single piece of advice from this kid really enhance Julian’s combat strength so much?
However, Isaac didn’t have time to ponder further, as Terra continued to guide Julian.
“Retreat, don’t clash head-on.”
“Gather True Essence in your right hand, strike from the side.”
“Be careful, keep your True Essence concentrated.”
Under Terra’s continuous guidance, Isaac was shocked to see Julian’s combat strength visibly improving, making their battle increasingly difficult for him.
“How is this possible? Even if the top Martial Dao experts of Anyang City were guiding Julian, it wouldn’t have such an effect!”
The onlookers were also wide-eyed in disbelief. If they hadn’t seen it themselves, they wouldn’t have believed it.
The most astonished was Julian himself. Only he knew how each of Terra’s words seemed tailor-made for him, allowing him to use his strength in the most effective way. It was simply miraculous.
“Cheating, this is cheating.”
Isaac couldn’t bear it any longer and shouted. He found Julian increasingly difficult to deal with, and at this rate, not only would he fail to eliminate Julian, but even winning would be challenging.
“If this is cheating, then what do you call trying to kill your opponent during a duel?”
Terra said calmly. If Isaac hadn’t tried to kill, Terra wouldn’t have resorted to this method to boost Julian’s combat strength. This method was based on his understanding of the Blood Barbarian Clan’s bloodline traits, but it couldn’t genuinely enhance Julian’s strength, only help him perform better in battle.
“Senior Brother Nangong is here!”
At that moment, someone exclaimed from afar.
Isaac’s face lit up with joy upon hearing this, “It’s Senior Brother Nangong!”
The crowd parted to make way, and a young man with a sword on his back slowly walked in from outside the crowd.
