“Even if you become my disciple, it doesn’t mean you have to leave Terra. On the contrary, the Martial Dao division is close to the Elixir Path division, so you can visit him every day,” Jackson Guo tried to persuade further.
“Huh!”
Gu Qianxue was somewhat moved by these words.
She knew that once she entered Anyang Academy, it would naturally be impossible to spend as much time with Terra as before. However, this old man promised that she could see Terra every day. If it were someone else teaching her, they probably wouldn’t allow that, right?
For a moment, Gu Qianxue looked conflicted and indecisive, casting a pleading glance at Terra, who was standing to the side.
Terra smiled. In fact, he thought it wouldn’t be a bad idea for Gu Qianxue to become Jackson Guo’s disciple. After all, he really didn’t have the time or patience to teach a young girl alchemy. And the Elixir Path is an art that requires hands-on guidance. Relying solely on one’s talent would ultimately leave many gaps.
So, letting Gu Qianxue study under Jackson Guo for a while seemed like a good idea to Terra.
“Qianxue, if you’re willing, you can study the Elixir Path with him,” Terra said with a gentle smile.
Gu Qianxue gave Terra a resentful look. She knew it; Terra didn’t have the time to teach her, so he wanted to hand her over to an old man.
“Little girl, as long as you become my disciple, I promise you’ll have a variety of delicious foods to enjoy every day,” Jackson Guo said, striking while the iron was hot when he saw Gu Qianxue waver.
He wasn’t sure if this would work, but he remembered that on the carriage ride to Anyang City, Gu Qianxue had been eating non-stop.
Sure enough, Gu Qianxue’s eyes lit up at these words. After thinking for a moment, she said, “Alright, I’ll reluctantly agree!”
Her tone and demeanor made it seem like becoming Jackson Guo’s disciple was a huge grievance for her.
But Jackson Guo didn’t mind at all. Instead, he was overjoyed and quickly handed Gu Qianxue the Elixir Path division’s student token.
This meant that from today, Terra, Gu Qianyin, and Gu Qianxue officially became students of Anyang Academy.
However, the term wouldn’t start for another week, so the three of them bid farewell to Jackson Guo, planning to leave Anyang Academy for now and return in a week.
Jackson Guo was reluctant to let them go. He had finally accepted a disciple with a perfect score in the fire-attributed affinity test and was eager to impart all his knowledge to her. He didn’t want Gu Qianxue to leave.
Gu Qianxue didn’t care what Jackson Guo was thinking. Her mind was filled with one thought: the entrance exam was finally over, and she could go eat something delicious now, right?
Gu Qianyin, however, was more observant. She noticed Li Shitong standing alone and whispered to Terra, “Terra, I think that Miss Li seems a bit down.”
Terra looked over and saw Li Shitong standing by herself, arms crossed, looking a bit dazed, lost in thought.
Although it had nothing to do with Terra, from a humanitarian perspective, it was Terra who had driven away Li Shitong’s teacher, leaving her without one. So, it wouldn’t be right for Terra to ignore her.
After thinking for a moment, Terra walked over to Jackson Guo and asked, “Dean Guo, are you interested in taking on another disciple?”
“Another disciple?” Jackson Guo, still excited from accepting Gu Qianxue, was taken aback and asked, “Who?”
Besides Gu Qianxue, he wasn’t keen on taking other disciples. He had always adhered to the principle of quality over quantity. Only exceptionally talented Elixir Path geniuses could catch his eye.
“If it’s someone Young Friend Su recommends, as long as their talent isn’t too poor, I can take them on as a named disciple,” Jackson Guo said, giving Terra a huge favor. Under normal circumstances, he wouldn’t accept just anyone.
“It’s her.”
Terra pointed to Li Shitong.
Jackson Guo followed Terra’s direction and looked over, surprised that Terra would recommend Li Shitong as a disciple.
But thinking it over, it wasn’t a bad idea. Li Shitong was already an Elixir Path genius, ranking at least in the top five in the Elixir Path division. Moreover, her advantage was that she was younger than the other top-ranking Elixir Path geniuses, meaning she had more potential.
In the past, Jackson Guo wouldn’t have considered Li Shitong because she was already Lu Yuankang’s disciple. But now that Lu Yuankang had been expelled from Anyang Academy, Li Shitong indeed needed a new teacher.
Thinking this, Jackson Guo called out to Li Shitong, “Shitong, would you be interested in becoming my disciple?”
“Me?”
Li Shitong snapped out of her daze, surprised that Dean Guo would take her as a disciple.
“If you become my disciple, I will do my best to provide you with the best resources. Although your talent isn’t as great as Qianxue’s, it’s still quite impressive,” Jackson Guo said.
In fact, Li Shitong’s talent was already exceptional, only appearing ordinary when compared to Gu Qianxue.
“Disciple greets Master.”
Li Shitong didn’t hesitate and agreed immediately. Losing Lu Yuankang as a teacher only made her feel down for a few days. She would soon recover and continue her studies at Anyang Academy. Becoming Jackson Guo’s disciple would bring her more benefits.
“Good, good. I’ll take you to practice alchemy right away.”
Jackson Guo was in high spirits after accepting two disciples.
“Dean Guo, we’ll be leaving now,” Terra said, bidding farewell as he, Gu Qianyin, and Gu Qianxue left Anyang Academy.
“Qianxue, did you really get a perfect score in the fire-attributed affinity test?” Gu Qianyin asked curiously.
“Of course!”
Gu Qianxue’s face lit up with pride. “Actually, I think I even broke their testing ball!”
“What? You broke the testing ball?”
Gu Qianyin was stunned, unsure whether to believe it. Breaking the testing ball would require an immense amount of energy, a feat only a highly gifted genius could achieve.
Terra just smiled faintly. He completely believed Gu Qianxue. With her Innate Fire Spirit Body, breaking the testing ball was not surprising. It meant her fire-attributed affinity score was far beyond 100, but the testing ball couldn’t measure it.
The three of them walked back to the Mu Family under the evening glow.
“Young Master Su, you’re finally back.”
Eighth Master Mu had been waiting at Terra’s courtyard door and greeted him with joy upon seeing him.
