Chapter 30 – Bear a grudge

Alex Li rolled up his sleeves and slapped hard.

Alex, coming from a notable family, was slightly stronger than Evan Chen.

Sensing danger, Evan instinctively activated the “Supreme Shield of Heaven” protective technique.

The Immortal Power within him drained, forming a deep yellow shield.

“Bang!”

With a dull thud, Alex’s hand was bounced back, leaving several deep cuts on his palm, revealing bone.

After blocking the attack, the Supreme Shield of Heaven dissipated, and Evan’s figure vanished.

Olivia Zhong was slightly surprised.

This kid actually knows such a defensive technique?

If his realm weren’t so low, the shield formed by this technique could withstand an attack from a cultivator one realm higher.

What’s more outrageous is that this technique also has a teleportation effect, allowing him to move a hundred feet away in the blink of an eye.

Don’t underestimate this hundred feet; in a life-and-death battle between experts, even a split-second faster dodge can determine life or death.

Teleporting a hundred feet is almost like ignoring the opponent’s attack!

How formidable!

“Get back here!”

Sensing Evan’s attempt to escape, Olivia called out softly.

This fool has an unparalleled demonic technique on him. How can I let him leave before figuring out the situation?

“I won’t! You want to hit me!” a panting voice came from the dense forest.

“I was just playing with you earlier. If you’re not convinced, hit back whoever hits you.”

It’s not that Olivia liked coaxing Evan; she had no choice. Any unfavorable action against Evan would be suppressed from the depths of her soul. Forcibly capturing him would cause her immense pain.

Hearing this, Alex cried out, “Heaven and earth, Fairy, you can’t do this.”

You were the one who told me to hit him, and now my hand is injured, and I have to take a beating from that rascal. Who wouldn’t feel wronged?

“Stop crying, or I’ll dig out your eyeballs.”

Alex quickly shut his mouth, hanging his head like a scolded loyal dog.

Evan didn’t really want to run. The opponent was a Profound Immortal-level expert; how could she not catch him? He just wanted to act pitiful and gain some sympathy.

Soon, Evan walked out of the dense forest.

“You weren’t lying, right? I can really beat this guy up?” Evan asked.

“As long as you can beat him, go ahead. I won’t interfere,” Olivia said calmly.

Evan chuckled, mimicking Alex’s earlier sleeve-rolling gesture. “You started it, don’t blame me for being ruthless.”

Alex cried, “Brother! You can’t blame me; I was forced!”

This kid had exposed his trump card technique, and Evan just wanted to beat him up. He pounced directly.

The two wrestled together, and soon, Evan was defeated, pinned under Alex.

“Sister, help me! Help me beat him!”

Seeing he was about to get beaten, Evan quickly called out to Olivia for help.

Hearing this, that strange feeling came over Olivia again. This time, she didn’t waste a lot of mental energy resisting that wisp of will; it wasn’t worth it.

Slap! Slap!

Two crisp slaps left Alex’s head buzzing.

“Liar! You said you wouldn’t interfere, but you still sided with him. Just kill me; I don’t want to live.”

Alex sat on the ground, burying his head in his knees, crying like a woman.

Olivia was also helpless. Being half-controlled didn’t feel good. She currently loathed Evan ten times more than Alex.

“You’re still the one who cares about me, Sister.”

Evan said smugly, looking like a villain.

“Shut up!”

Olivia, exasperated, tore off a beast leg and shoved it into Evan’s mouth to shut him up.

“Thank you, Sister.”

Evan grinned, taking the beast leg and chomping down.

Delicious!

This unknown spirit beast’s meat was filled with Immortal Energy, tasting incredibly fresh. A few bites replenished Evan’s earlier consumption.

“If this were in a restaurant, it would cost hundreds of Immortal Crystals each?” Evan mused while eating.

“Hundreds? A Blood Jade Badger would cost at least ten thousand. You wouldn’t even see a hair for less,” Olivia rolled her eyes at Evan.

“!!!”

Evan’s eyes widened.

Ten thousand Immortal Crystals?

Damn, it’s that valuable!

No wonder a bite makes you feel refreshed, comparable to a miraculous elixir.

“I’m so hungry, Fairy, can I have some too?”

Alex, squatting pitifully nearby, heard the spirit beast was worth ten thousand and his eyes lit up.

“Go ahead, eat as much as you want.” Not wanting to let Evan have it all, Olivia replied.

“Thank you, thank you!”

Alex, given permission, rushed over, tearing off a piece of meat and devouring it.

Soon, a fifty-pound rare Blood Jade Badger was devoured by the two.

“Sister, why don’t you catch a few dozen more? We can sell them and buy a Cave Mansion to live a peaceful life. Why wander around fighting all the time?”

“I…”

Driven by the mysterious will, Olivia indeed had the urge to catch a few dozen more Blood Jade Badgers.

After expending a lot of mental energy resisting the “command,” Olivia drew her sword. “Is your brain full of crap? If you dare make such strange requests again, I’ll kill you. If I don’t, may my whole family die!”

Sensing the terrifying killing intent, Evan quickly shrank his neck.

Damn, I just made a small, reasonable suggestion. Why so fierce?

One day, I’ll get you! Shut your filthy mouth!

Evan thought but didn’t dare to talk back to Olivia.

After eating, he lay leisurely on the dry grass, sighing inwardly. The Lower Realm is still better. In the Immortal World, people boss you around all day, and a slight mistake could cost your life. It’s not a life worth living.

Time flew by, and more than ten days passed.

During these days, Olivia led Evan and Alex through the desolate mountains.

Evan later learned that the woman was looking for something to heal her wounds.

Along the way, Evan had a feast, as Olivia always managed to get some strange spirit beast meat to eat.

The taste was excellent, and the Immortal Energy contained was rich.

Unknowingly, Evan had already stepped into the Fourth Immortal Realm.

Evan couldn’t help but sigh. Ordinary people struggle to advance a realm in their lifetime, but following the Female Demon, eating and drinking, he easily advanced. Where’s the justice in that?

However, along the way, the Female Demon didn’t stop threatening him.

Evan found it strange. He just occasionally made a small suggestion, and the Female Demon would often fly into a rage, threatening to kill him.

After being threatened all the way, Evan became cautious, not daring to speak easily. And if he really couldn’t stand it? He’d beat up Alex, using him as a punching bag.

Alex, considering Evan and Olivia as a team, didn’t dare fight back.

Additionally, Evan secretly kept a small notebook, recording all of Olivia’s crimes, waiting to repay them double in the future.

“February 28th, the Female Demon’s wound worsened. I suggested reasonably to use my urine to disinfect it. She went berserk and almost killed me. This is a great enmity.”

“March 1st, argued with the Female Demon over the distribution of spirit beast meat. She cursed and told me to ‘eat shit.’ I cursed her back with the same words. She got furious and wanted to attack me. Luckily, her wound acted up, and she collapsed, sparing my life. This great enmity is temporarily noted.”

“March 2nd, due to yesterday’s fright, I remained silent all day, nothing happened.”

“March 3rd, the scoundrel Alex tried to instigate the Female Demon to kill me but got slapped a hundred times by her. Watching it was satisfying. This is a small merit for the Female Demon.”

“March 4th to March 6th… The Female Demon found healing medicine. She slightly scolded me a few times, didn’t dare to resist, noted a small grudge.”

“March 7th, flew with the Female Demon. Several times almost fell from the sky. I concluded it was intentional. Flew for several hours to the foot of Mount Nine Splendid. No other dangers, noted a medium grudge.”
