Chapter 27 – To be honest, I am also a practitioner of magic

"Evan, why are you back again?"

In just a few moments, the bored and restless Alex Li was surprised to see the girl in white fly back in through the window.

"Shut your damn mouth!"

The girl in white was pale, and the lower part of her dress was stained with blood.

Seeing this, Alex immediately understood. She must have lost too much blood and couldn't walk, so she had no choice but to return.

"Roar!"

Suddenly, the twenty-four meters Flood Dragon pulling the beast carriage let out a tragic roar.

The beast carriage came to an abrupt halt, causing many people to stumble and curse.

"Female Demon, we know you're hiding in the carriage. Come out and face your death!"

A wild Immortal voice rang out, causing everyone's eardrums to ache.

What happened?

Evan Chen was also startled by the voice. He quickly opened his eyes and looked out the window.

What he saw made him shrink back in fear.

Just thirty meters away from the beast carriage, they were surrounded by countless skinless blood men. The stench of their ferocity made him want to vomit.

At the same time, a black mist rose inside the carriage, quickly forming a barrier that enveloped everyone inside.

"If you dare to attack, everyone in this carriage will die with me!"

Without seeing anyone speak, a cold female voice transmitted out.

"Hahaha," a sinister laugh came from outside the carriage, "as long as we can kill you, the Female Demon who infiltrated our Holy Land, it doesn't matter if tens of thousands of ants die, let alone just a few dozen people."

"Hmph," the girl snorted coldly, "try it if you dare!"

"What's going on? Who is the Female Demon?"

"Please, great ones outside, don't attack. We are all simple, kind-hearted villagers."

"I don't want to die, I don't want to die, boohoo."

The inside of the carriage descended into chaos.

Evan Chen was also terrified. He turned his gaze to the pale girl who remained calm.

She was the only girl on the carriage.

Those idiots were still looking around for the Female Demon. How clueless.

"Can you not kill me? I'll give you anything."

Evan blinked his eyes, looking like an innocent child.

Alex Li was also bewildered, almost scared to the point of wetting himself. He stammered, "Miss, to be honest, I have no prejudice against Demonic Cultivators. There's even a rumor that my father once had a relationship with a female Demonic Cultivator…"

"Shut up!"

The girl slapped Alex Li on the head. His eyes widened, and he collapsed.

Seeing this, Evan's heart tightened.

Damn it, am I going to be killed by this Female Demon?

Even if she doesn't kill me, if those guys outside attack, I'll still be doomed along with her.

Either way, it seems like a dead end.

"Cross-realm stone!"

In his panic, Evan prepared to activate the cross-realm stone to temporarily escape to the Lower Realm.

After seven hours, the crisis here would likely have passed.

"Damn it! Still half an hour left!"

Evan almost cursed out loud.

After each cross-realm trip, the cross-realm stone would self-seal for twelve hours. It still needed half an hour to unseal.

This is too unlucky. If I had known, I wouldn't have rushed to the Spirit Phoenix Pavilion before leaving. With my condition, half an hour would have been more than enough.

"The Female Demon is there! Everyone, let's get her and we'll be saved!"

In the chaos, someone finally guessed that the girl was the so-called Female Demon.

"Yes, kill her, and we'll be saved!"

"Everyone, attack!"

The crowd pulled out their weapons, sickles, and hoes, and charged forward.

"Ah!"

Before they could get close, screams erupted from the crowd.

"Damn it, Er Gouzi, you stabbed me!"

"My ear! Which bastard cut off my ear!"

And these fools dared to boast about killing the Female Demon. What a bunch of rabble.

Evan huddled in the corner, playing dead. Maybe if he waited until the cross-realm stone unsealed, he could still survive.

Swish, swish, swish…

A few strands of black mist shot out, heads flew, and bodies fell to the ground.

Apart from the Female Demon, only Evan and the unconscious Alex Li were left alive in the carriage.

"You're not going to kill me?" The girl turned her cold gaze to Evan.

"Not at all, not at all," Evan shook his head vigorously.

"Is it because you don't dare, or because you don't have the strength?" The girl sneered, then said, "If you had any strength, you would have attacked me already!"

Evan was very nervous.

"Heaven and earth bear witness, I, Evan Chen, have no prejudice against Demonic Cultivators…"

"He already said that," the Female Demon pointed to the unconscious Alex Li.

"I'm different."

Evan forced himself to stay calm.

"How are you different? No matter how you argue, it won't help. Even if I don't kill you, once they start their killing formation, this beast carriage will be blown to bits, and you won't escape death," the girl said coldly.

"I'm really different because… my master is also a Demonic Cultivator," Evan blurted out.

The girl frowned, thinking to herself that he would say anything to save his life. Did he think she was a fool?

"You don't believe me? 'Endure a thousand tribulations, cultivate an undying heart, the evil of all beings, slaughter to return to purity…'"

Evan recited a passage like a nursery rhyme.

This passage was the mantra of the True Demon Heart Sutra, though Evan didn't understand its profound meaning, it sounded very demonic when recited.

"Blood Demon Sutra!"

The girl was visibly shocked after hearing it.

Evan was overjoyed. It seemed this woman knew her stuff.

"Exactly, exactly. Now you should believe that I am also one of the Demonic Cultivators."

The girl drew her long sword and pointed it at Evan, "The Blood Demon Sutra is something even my master only glimpsed by chance. Yet you recited over a thousand words so fluently. That's impossible!"

Damn it!

He had recited too much.

Regretting his mistake, Evan quickly said, "Maybe what your master got was the fragment my master passed down."

The girl's expression softened. If that were true, this guy might have a significant background.

"Fine, show me a few moves."

"To be honest… I haven't learned them yet."

"Not even one move?"

Evan nodded silently.

"If you're really that useless, what kind of Demonic Cultivator would take you as a disciple? You're full of lies. Die!"

"Don't, don't, don't kill me! I have one move, but I don't dare use it on you!"

Evan quickly protected his head.

"Ridiculous. I am a Profound Immortal. Do you think I can't handle a few moves from a weakling like you?"

The girl said disdainfully.

"You don't understand. This move is a surprise attack. If you're on guard, I can't succeed. But if you're relaxed, I can definitely catch you off guard!" Evan explained.

"Sounds like a Demonic technique. I'll shut off my Immortal Sense. Show me what you've got."

The girl was usually cautious, but Evan's recitation of the Blood Demon Sutra had truly shocked her. It was a treasure even her master coveted.

To verify its authenticity, she decided to play along with Evan. Otherwise, she would have killed him with a single sword strike.

Moreover, she was a Profound Immortal, and Evan was just a Third Immortal Realm ant. Even if he used an Immortal Artifact, he couldn't harm her.

Evan coaxed, "Relax, relax, I'm going to invade you."

The girl: "???"
