Chapter 7 – Gone forever

Unnamed Peak.

Shirley rested in the cave for several hours, finally feeling some relief.

"Master is really too fierce, hehe."

Recalling the brutal battle of the past seven days, a shy smile involuntarily appeared on Shirley's lips.

She put on a light gauze dress, pointed her finger, and the spring water in the cave condensed into a mirror.

Looking at her own delicate face and graceful figure in the mirror, Shirley felt a mix of joy and worry.

"When Master gets tired of me, will he drive me away?"

Sigh.

After all, she was just his servant.

Forget it, why think so much? Just be happy for each day.

Shirley tidied her dress and walked out of the cave with small, delicate steps. She couldn't take big steps because it hurt too much.

"Where is Master?"

Shirley looked around but saw no sign of Evan Chen.

"Maybe he went to handle some affairs."

Two days passed, and Evan Chen still hadn't returned.

She stood at the edge of the cliff, lost in thought as she watched the clouds roll like waves.

When the wind came, she instinctively tightened her dress.

She sat down, hugging her knees to her chest.

Her jet-black hair swayed in the wind, and the world was silent.

"I used to be alone too, so why do I suddenly feel so lonely and uneasy?"

***

A few more days passed.

Shirley realized that he was probably really gone and would never come back.

So angry.

But, it's nothing.

Just treat it as a dream, what's there to cry about?

"Amitabha."

Lost in thought, someone behind her chanted a Buddhist mantra.

Shirley turned around abruptly and saw seven solemn monks standing behind her.

Compared to the monk Retarded Zhi who used to chase her, these monks gave Shirley a different feeling, as if they were more murderous.

"Masters, the enmity between me and the Brahma Sound Sect has been resolved. May I ask what brings you here?"

Shirley spoke calmly.

"Bold demoness, stop spouting nonsense here."

One of the fat-headed monks shouted, pointing his finger, and a bloody hole appeared on Shirley's shoulder.

"Body Fusion Realm!"

Shirley was terrified, her face pale.

"Bald donkey! How can you be so unreasonable? My master paid with Immortal Crystals for that Exquisite Fruit, worth more than a thousand times its value. How dare you trouble me again!"

The fat-headed monk sneered, "Impudent demoness, you used demonic arts to deceive Junior Brother Retarded Zhi with an ordinary stone. How could you fool my eyes!"

Shirley was stunned.

Ordinary stone?

Was the monk talking nonsense, or was she also deceived…

"Master's Immortal Power is profound; he is definitely not a swindler!" Shirley murmured to herself, then shouted, "Where is Retarded Zhi? Call him out to confront me!"

"Demoness, don't think you can play any more tricks. Even if there wasn't this matter, exterminating you is the righteous duty of us cultivators of the true path." The monk said righteously.

"You ruthless monk, I am like all living beings, born of heaven and earth. How can we be irreconcilable enemies!" Shirley's chest heaved with anger.

Born of heaven and earth.

The seven monks were speechless.

"Junior brothers, don't listen to the demoness's sophistry. If we don't act now, when will we?"

"Yes, Senior Brother."

Clang, Clang, Clang…

In an instant, several monks summoned their Magical Treasures, causing the entire peak to tremble, and the sound of clashing weapons echoed through the heavens and earth.

***

Immortal World.

In a desolate cave.

Evan Chen let out a long breath.

It turned out that the cross-realm stone didn't want to devour him but to transport him back to the Immortal World.

Through his mind, Evan Chen fully understood that the cross-realm stone's effect had a time limit.

He stayed in the Lower Realm for seven days, but upon returning, he found that only seven hours had passed.

In other words, the time span between the Immortal World and the Cultivation World was different; one hour in the Immortal World equaled one day in the Lower Realm.

Evan Chen thought this was better, as it gave him more time to live in the Lower Realm.

The only drawback was that each time he went to the Lower Realm, he could only stay for seven days.

This was related to his own realm. If he broke through to the True Immortal Realm, he could stay longer, but he didn't know exactly how long yet.

In short, the higher his realm, the longer he could stay in the Lower Realm.

Moreover, each time he returned, the cross-realm stone would self-seal for twelve hours, so he had to wait until the next day to go back to the Lower Realm.

"Hu."

Evan Chen practiced breathing exercises in the cave for several hours, consuming three Immortal Crystals, and finally fully recovered.

Since he couldn't go to the Lower Realm immediately, Evan Chen planned to visit the market.

Firstly, since he wanted to establish a sect in the Lower Realm, he needed to prepare some high-quality materials.

Secondly, Evan Chen planned to inquire about the price of Heavenly Ebony Buddhist Beads and also check the prices of other scarce materials in the Immortal World.

***

The market was far from the mining area, and as an ordinary person in the Immortal World, Evan Chen couldn't fly.

He had to spend half an Immortal Crystal to take a flying beast there.

The market was bustling, mostly with miners on their breaks buying essential supplies.

There was an Immortal Treasure Pavilion in the market, with branches all over the Immortal World, rumored to be owned by the Immortal Emperor Weiyang's brother-in-law, though no one knew if it was true.

One thing was certain, the Immortal Treasure Pavilion had an excellent reputation for doing business. No matter your background or status, they welcomed all customers equally.

The grand and magnificent ancient building complex, covering thousands of acres, was where the Immortal Treasure Pavilion was located.

After asking around, Evan Chen arrived at one of the trading areas.

It was a wide street lined with shops and stalls.

The goods were dazzling, ranging from farm tools, weapons, and magical treasures to elixirs, immortal talismans, and clothing.

Evan Chen stopped at a weapon stall.

Although these items were ordinary in the Immortal World, any one of them would be considered a top-grade Immortal Artifact in the Lower Realm.

After all, these things had to be crafted by at least a True Immortal-level artifact refiner.

"Boss, how much for this dagger?"

Evan Chen casually picked up an item.

"Good eye, customer. This top-grade blade is three hundred Immortal Crystals, no bargaining."

"Too expensive."

Evan Chen put down the dagger.

He only earned sixty a month, and a dagger cost three hundred; he couldn't afford it.

Besides, for use in the Lower Realm, he didn't need such high quality.

After wandering for a while, Evan Chen finally bought two sickles, a rake, and a hammer.

He spent a total of two hundred and sixty Immortal Crystals. Farm tools were much cheaper than authentic weapons.

Additionally, Evan Chen bought a few Immortal Talismans. Although they were the lowest grade and some were even defective, they were still expensive, costing over seven hundred Immortal Crystals.

He had saved a total of six thousand five hundred Immortal Crystals, and spending so much at once really hurt.

"Forget it, you have to spend money to make money."

Evan Chen consoled himself.

Then, he bought some ordinary herbs and wild fruits from some street vendors and entered one of the Immortal Treasure Pavilion's stores.

"Shopkeeper, do you buy Heavenly Ebony?"

Evan Chen got straight to the point.

"Yes, yes, yes, please have a seat."

The old man at the counter greeted him with a smile and ordered someone to serve Immortal Tea.

"Heavenly Ebony is a rare item. We'll buy as much as you have, no questions asked." The shopkeeper said.

Evan Chen knew the Immortal Treasure Pavilion had an excellent reputation for doing business, so he didn't hold back and directly took out the string of Buddhist Beads.

"Wow."

The shopkeeper's eyes lit up, and he couldn't help but praise it.
