Chapter 120 – Reinforce Peace Pass

The battle raged on until noon, and the walls of Peace Pass were on the verge of collapse.

The veteran held off Seth Helan, while Calvin Yang was being restrained by five Huns Grandmasters.

The high-ranking officers of the Peace Army were all being held back by the Hun elites.

The fighting among the regular soldiers was extremely brutal. Severed limbs and crimson blood continuously assaulted their senses. Both the Peace Army and the Huns were fighting like madmen, their eyes red with fury.

Seeing that the walls were about to be breached, the Left Wise King decided to go all out.

“Send another ten thousand men! Today, we must take Peace Pass,” Jackson Hun shouted.

“Yes, sir!”

The subordinate generals immediately mobilized more troops to continue the assault.

Xiao Chuyi and Wesley Hu, leading their subordinates, galloped furiously and finally arrived at Peace Pass.

The southern gate of Peace Pass was also tightly shut, with guards stationed on the walls.

Seeing tens of thousands of troops charging towards them, the defenders became alert. The archers on the walls drew their bows, aiming at the approaching army.

As the army drew closer, the Martial Colonel guarding the wall finally saw the banner clearly. It bore the character “Wei,” and the large character “Sheng” fluttered in the wind on the command flag.

The Martial Colonel was overjoyed. Could this be the reinforcements from Oliver Sheng?

“Quickly put away the bows and arrows! These are the reinforcements from River West County,” the Martial Colonel shouted.

The archers quickly lowered their bows.

The army halted below the walls. Seeing the thousands of cavalry, the Martial Colonel thought to himself, “Wow, so many cavalry, even more than our Peace Army.”

“We are the River West Army, here to provide support. Open the gates quickly,” Xiao Chuyi shouted.

The Martial Colonel looked down but did not see Oliver Sheng, feeling a bit puzzled.

Nevertheless, he ordered the gates to be opened to let the army in.

The Martial Colonel went to the gate to welcome the reinforcements.

“I am the Martial Colonel of the Peace Army. Where is General Sheng?” he asked.

“I am Colonel Xiao of the River West Army. General Sheng has gone to the grasslands to sweep the Barbarian tribes. We received the call for help and came ahead,” Xiao Chuyi explained.

The Martial Colonel frowned. Oliver Sheng didn’t come? This could be troublesome. But looking at the River West Army…

Damn, they’re all Martial Disciples and Martial Artists?

Not a single ordinary person.

“Thank you, Colonel Xiao. Please hurry to the walls; the situation is dire. I need to guard the southern gate,” the Martial Colonel said to Xiao Chuyi and his men.

“Understood!”

Xiao Chuyi and Wesley Hu led their subordinates quickly to the northern wall, stabled their horses in the barracks, and rushed up to support the defense.

The Peace Army, originally thirty thousand strong, had already lost over ten thousand men. The situation was grim.

The two led their troops up the wall.

“Form up and kill the enemy!”

With the shouts from Wesley Hu and Xiao Chuyi, their soldiers quickly formed the Mandarin Duck Formation and began slaughtering the Hun invaders.

The formation’s lethality was immediately apparent, with Hun soldiers being cut down continuously.

Martial Disciples in formation could kill Martial Artists; Martial Artists in formation could contend with Martial Masters, and even kill them.

Seeing the ferocity of the soldiers who had come to the wall, Elliott Sun and others were stunned.

“Whose troops are these, so fierce?”

“They don’t look like our Peace Army!”

“Hey, they seem to be Oliver Sheng’s subordinates.”

Elliott Sun, Declan Li, Harrison Zhou, Colonel Lin, and other Peace Army officers smiled with relief. The reinforcements had finally arrived.

“Why don’t we see Oliver Sheng?”

They fought while searching but did not see any sign of Oliver Sheng.

At that moment, Oliver Sheng was still leading his men on the River West grasslands, sweeping the Xianyou Tribe.

Having killed the Great Grandmaster who was the tribe’s pillar, Oliver Sheng had them retreating in defeat, unable to withstand his onslaught.

“Hmm? What’s going on?” Oliver Sheng wondered as he led his men to rest and eat lunch.

Why is my Kill Point suddenly increasing?

He wasn’t leading his men in battle right now!

“What’s wrong, General?” Felix Wu asked.

“Nothing,” Oliver Sheng waved it off.

He thought, could River West County be under attack?

That wouldn’t do. If a strong enemy was attacking River West County, he needed to lead his troops back. River West County could not be lost.

“Eat quickly. After lunch, we return to River West County,” Oliver Sheng ordered.

“Huh? Not continuing to attack the Barbarians?”

The officers were puzzled. They were currently advancing triumphantly, driving the Xianyou Tribe back. Shouldn’t they press the advantage?

“We have too many spoils. Let’s take them back first and continue the attack later,” Oliver Sheng said.

He couldn’t say that River West County might be under attack and needed to be checked. That would be too prophetic.

After lunch, they broke camp and, with their warhorses and livestock, began the return journey.

After traveling more than fifty miles, they encountered scouts coming to find them.

“General, urgent report!” the scout shouted.

Seeing the scout rushing over, Oliver Sheng thought, “Oh no, could River West County really be in trouble?”

“General, urgent report! Peace Pass is in critical danger. Fifteen thousand Hun troops are attacking, with five Grandmasters. General Calvin Yang has sent a request for aid. Colonels Hu and Xiao have already led troops to support and sent me to find you,” the scout reported.

Oliver Sheng breathed a sigh of relief. It wasn’t River West County under attack.

Why were the Huns attacking Peace Pass again, and so fiercely?

No wonder he was getting Kill Points; it was because Wesley Hu and Xiao Chuyi were leading troops to support.

“Zane Wang, go ahead and have Cameron Guo lead troops to collect the spoils,” Oliver Sheng ordered.

“Yes, General!” Zane Wang, with several scouts and a few horses, sped off.

There were too many livestock, armor, weapons, and gold to leave behind on the grasslands. They had enough warhorses now for a forced march.

But the spoils were a bit of a hassle.

With the armor, they couldn’t march quickly.

“Felix Wu, take a thousand soldiers and these spoils to River West County. Hand them over to Cameron Guo, then lead five thousand soldiers to join us at Peace Pass,” Oliver Sheng ordered.

“Yes, General!” Felix Wu obeyed.

Leaving a thousand cavalry and ten thousand warhorses, Felix Wu took the spoils back to River West County, while Oliver Sheng led his men towards Peace Pass.

“All soldiers, march quickly to Peace Pass,” Oliver Sheng ordered.

With over thirty thousand warhorses, they could keep switching horses to avoid exhausting them.

Peace Pass!

The River West Army continuously poured onto the walls, forming battle formations and slaughtering the Hun invaders. The powerful River West Army drove the Huns back, cutting down those who climbed the walls.

This finally halted the Peace Army’s decline.

Seeing this, Elliott Sun, Edward Zhao, and others breathed a sigh of relief.

If the walls were breached and the gates opened to let the Huns in, they would be doomed.

“These River West soldiers are formidable.”

Watching the River West Army fight, Elliott Sun and others were amazed at their combat prowess.

“What kind of formation is that? It’s so powerful and terrifying.”

With Xiao Chuyi and Wesley Hu leading their men to support, they managed to hold back the Hun onslaught.

Having received the news, Oliver Sheng was also leading his men, racing towards Peace Pass.
