Chapter 10 – Legendary passive “Master of Weapons”

"Human, if I’m not mistaken, it was that human named Song Qi who told you I was here, right?"

"So what if he did? So what if he didn't?"

Ye Shuangluo looked at her with great interest. Even though she didn't open her mouth, he could still hear her voice. Could this be some kind of telepathic communication?

Seeing that both of them were ignoring him, the simp Qi became anxious. Maybe he was eager to prove himself, or maybe he just wanted to assert his presence.

He actually roared at Ye Shuangluo:

"Song Qi, you broke your promise! I clearly gave you Zombie No. 0's heart, and you still betrayed us."

As he spoke, the desperate simp lunged at Ye Shuangluo.

Ye Shuangluo slightly sidestepped to avoid his attack, and in an instant, Mortal Kill was unsheathed, slashing towards Qi's head.

The strike was so swift that Qi could only turn around in disbelief before collapsing to the ground, blood gushing from his neck like a fountain.

After killing Qi, Ye Shuangluo sneered coldly:

"That was your agreement with him. What does it have to do with me?"

Taking two steps forward, he looked at Zombie No. 0, who was now within arm's reach, and thought to himself:

"This time, I really hit the jackpot."

In his eyes, the girl soaking in the nutrient solution, who looked like an ordinary young girl, had a blood-red skull symbol above her head.

That was the mark of a boss, and the blood-red mark on Zombie No. 0's head was so dark it was almost black.

This piqued his interest as he looked at Zombie No. 0, who seemed to be merely asleep with her eyes closed.

Her pure and beautiful appearance made it easy to understand why that foolish simp would betray his own kind for her.

For some reason, just by looking at her, Ye Shuangluo felt an urge to die for her.

(Zombie No. 0 has used Charm on you. You need to make a Mental Judgment.)

(Judgment passed. You will ignore the opponent's Charm.)

Regaining his clarity, Ye Shuangluo immediately raised his blade and slashed at Zombie No. 0.

With his superhuman physical strength, even reinforced glass couldn't withstand his strike.

As the glass shattered, Zombie No. 0's cold and ethereal voice sounded again.

"Powerful human, please put away your blade."

"You want me to put it away just because you said so? That would make me look bad."

"Human, I can give you anything you want. Please don't stop my birth."

Ye Shuangluo stood with his blade raised, watching as Zombie No. 0 grew visibly weaker after leaving the nutrient solution.

"What if I insist on stopping you?"

"…This is a sacred evolution. Even if you kill me, you can't stop it. At most, you'll be a small obstacle on this sacred path."

"Pfft, hahaha."

Ye Shuangluo covered his face with one hand and laughed wildly, his laughter filled with mockery and disdain.

"Since you say I'm just an obstacle, then I must try to block you."

"…Human, you can't stop this evolution. This is His decision. No one can change or stop it. You are all just discarded failures. Don't delude yourself."

Bang!

The Wind Chaser Type I easily shattered Zombie No. 0's head. This monster, which could have destroyed the world if it had been born, was thus killed.

"Such a chatterbox."

After Ye Shuangluo shot Zombie No. 0, a black treasure chest slowly appeared on her corpse. He put it into his space backpack, planning to open it after returning to the Main World.

At the same time, the mechanical voice of the game system echoed in his mind.

[Congratulations, Reserve Player, for completing the side quest: Kill Zombie No. 0]

[Congratulations on killing a World-Destroying boss]

[Due to your actions, you have indirectly saved countless lives]

[Unlimited Achievement triggered: Savior]

[Achievement description and reward: For each World-Destroying boss you kill, you can draw a Special Passive]

[Draw? Yes/No]

Ye Shuangluo naturally chose to draw, and instantly, a golden light burst before him, so bright that he had to close his eyes.

When the light faded, he opened his eyes to see the passive skill he had drawn.

[Congratulations on obtaining the Legendary Passive: Master of Weapons]

[Master of Weapons LV.1]

[Skill Type: Legendary Passive]

[Skill upgrade conditions: Explore on your own]

[Divine Weapon: Increases damage by 25% when using any weapon]

[Conqueror: In every battle, anyone attacking you with a weapon must make a Will Judgment. If they fail, they will be stunned for 0.5 seconds]

[Weapons Control: Reduces damage from any weapon attack by 20%]

[Evaluation: Standing atop all living beings and above all weapons, you are the Master of Weapons]

Ye Shuangluo stared in shock at this skill. It was incredibly powerful, almost like a cheat.

A World-Destroying boss, huh?

Though he was tempted, Ye Shuangluo shook his head helplessly. This time, he got lucky, but next time, he might not be so fortunate.

But if he had to say, Ye Shuangluo looked up at the sky. He should also count as a World-Destroying boss, right?

The entity easily turned all human weapons into scrap metal, a power that was awe-inspiring.

Maybe one day, he could become as strong as Him, or even stronger.

Out of nowhere, this thought suddenly appeared in Ye Shuangluo's mind.

Looking at the zombies rampaging around him, Ye Shuangluo gripped his long blade and charged forward.

Even though he knew it was futile, this world was destined to fall unless someone could cut down the Purple Moon in the sky.

Unfortunately, he couldn't do that now. He was just an ordinary person who couldn't save this world. At most, he could kill Zombie No. 0 and delay its downfall.

Four days later.

Pfft!

With three swift strikes, Ye Shuangluo cleanly killed the two zombies in front of him.

[Killing Maniac: 4789]

"Not even halfway there?"

[Ding, this trial is about to end. You will be teleported in five minutes. Please prepare.]

He was unwilling. For four days, he had hunted zombies almost without rest.

But in the end, he hadn't even reached halfway.

He hadn't even earned the "Killing Maniac" secondary achievement, let alone the highest achievement of this world, "God of Slaughter."

But there was nothing he could do; he was out of time.

Taking one last look at this world, Ye Shuangluo chose to return and was teleported away.

[Slaying a large number of zombies, slight increase in rating]

[Slaying mutant zombies: Yin, moderate increase in rating]

[Completing side quest: Slay Zombie No. 0, significant increase in rating]

When Ye Shuangluo regained consciousness, he was back in his room. Everything around him felt both unfamiliar and familiar.

In a daze, he felt as if a lifetime had passed.

Even though only seven days had passed in the Trial World, it felt a hundred times more exciting than his previous seventeen years.

He was still savoring the thrilling experiences of the Trial World. Every adventure he had gone through felt like a feast, leaving him wanting more.

Then he remembered that entering the Trial World meant he had been missing for seven days in the Main World.

And unfortunately, his homeroom teacher was a diligent and strict person. After he skipped classes, his teacher would definitely notify his guardians.

Thinking about how his uncle and aunt would go crazy with anger, stomping their feet because he slipped out of their control, he felt oddly pleased.

Even if he had to do it again, he would make the same choice.

Such an interesting game, if he missed it, he would regret it for life and curse his own stupidity countless times.

As he pondered what excuse to use to placate his uncle and aunt, a message notification sounded from his computer.

Hmm?

Who sent him his first message after returning?

Curious, he sat down at his computer to check the message.

"Awesome, you're amazing!"

"You finished an hour ahead of everyone in Heavenly Capital. You really showed them up this time."

"Maniacal Laugh.JPG"

Ye Shuangluo looked at the screen with a strange expression. The message was from his online friend, username "ご Lost Black Catゞ", a non-mainstream name belonging to a game enthusiast who loved the Aesthetics of Violence.

They had met through a game, and because the username was so non-mainstream, Ye Shuangluo always called him by his game name: Zi Han.

What puzzled him was that he had posted that screenshot in the group seven days ago, and this guy was only now praising him.

As he was wondering, he glanced at the time in the bottom right corner of his computer and was stunned.

He thought seven days had passed in the Trial World and the Main World, but only about an hour had passed here.

"So that's it, different time flow rates?"

Ye Shuangluo immediately understood. Only an hour had passed in the real world, so no one had reported him missing.

That's good; he didn't want to be exposed so soon.

Ye Shuangluo chatted idly with Black Cat. Suddenly, the screen went black, and then the blue square box reappeared.

The box read:

"Hello, excellent warrior."
