Vol.4 – Chapter 16 – The Way of Creation, Exchange of Information

Huotu watched helplessly as a new tributary formed in the River of Time and Space, composed of a portion of disaster power.

Simply put, the powers belonging to the Heavenly Dao, which were meant to be wielded by the gods as they walked the world, were forcibly stripped away by Meng Qingzhou and absorbed into himself.

Within his inner universe, Meng Qingzhou held absolute control like a creator god. The River of Time and Space held a status equivalent to the Heavenly Dao, though still in its infancy and unable to fully rival the Heavenly Dao. It could only absorb part of the disaster power, transforming it into a tributary.

Huotu felt a vague sense of familiarity and pondered deeply.

After a while, his eyelids twitched wildly.

A term exploded in his mind: “Heavenly Dao Struggle.”

The River of Time and Space was evolving towards the Heavenly Dao, gradually consuming its powers, and would eventually transform into the true laws of the Heavenly Dao within Meng Qingzhou’s inner universe!

In short, the River of Time and Space had already become a nascent form of the Heavenly Dao.

“This… how is this possible?”

Huotu’s breathing quickened, his eyes widening as he looked around at the gradually restoring starry universe.

Due to absorbing much of the divine essence from the godhood, and with the disaster power being plundered, the broken inner universe was rapidly repairing itself.

“Impossible.”

“No cultivator, not even the most powerful gods, can create a universe within their body that possesses the Heavenly Dao, the laws of all things, and complete powers.”

“At best, an inner universe ensures a cultivator’s complete detachment from the external world’s nourishment, achieving self-sufficiency and self-circulation.”

“How is it that with Meng Qingzhou, it seems… he’s truly racing towards creating a world?”

Huotu finally realized.

If the River of Time and Space and the inner universe didn’t have the basic form of becoming a new Heavenly Dao and a new world, how could they weaken the disaster power, making it impossible for the Heavenly Dao to track?

Previous conclusions were overturned, but Huotu’s mood grew heavier.

The solitary walker of the Great Dao of Time and Space, the creator of a new Heavenly Dao, the nurturer of a new world—these titles placed on one person carried immense significance.

Even during the rise of the first Human Emperor, there wasn’t such a monstrous talent!

“Do I really have a chance to escape…” Huotu wondered, questioning himself. Could such a monstrous talent really die halfway?

At that moment.

Meng Qingzhou, almost fully recovered, stood up, grabbed Huotu by the neck, and threw him into the River of Time and Space, suppressing him at the riverbed.

Clapping his hands, he declared, “Mission accomplished!”

With this, the progress on the Sky-Reaching Path reached 145%!

“Slow cultivation is too tedious. Slaying gods seems quite effective; it allows me to absorb powers and quickly advance my progress, killing two birds with one stone.”

Meng Qingzhou rubbed his chin, feeling a bit eager, like a demon who had tasted the sweetness of success, sharpening his fangs and extending his claws towards the gods.

No, no.

Meng Qingzhou was startled, shaking his head vigorously to dispel the thoughts. He had promised to develop stealthily; he couldn’t be so reckless, especially with the Heaven-Watching Pavilion watching in the shadows.

Huotu, submerged at the riverbed, silently watched Meng Qingzhou’s face change several times, remaining silent.

He felt that this guy had very dangerous thoughts.

“Can I ask you a question?” he said.

Meng Qingzhou snapped out of his thoughts and nodded, “Sure, but in return, you have to answer one of my questions.”

Huotu was silent for a moment, but curiosity got the better of him, and he agreed, “Alright.”

“I want to ask you…”

“Did you intentionally create this inner universe, like cultivating the River of Time and Space into a new Heavenly Dao, and plundering the gods’ powers to perfect the world itself, ultimately creating a universe capable of birthing life and cultivators?”

Huotu stared expectantly at Meng Qingzhou, observing every slight change in his facial muscles.

If it were true, he could hedge his bets.

He could outwardly pledge allegiance to Meng Qingzhou, and if he truly grew strong, even if Huotu couldn’t escape, he could serve as a new god in this world.

If Meng Qingzhou died halfway, Huotu could escape and still be a formidable force, losing nothing.

However.

Meng Qingzhou shook his head slightly and said:

“It wasn’t my original intention. It’s impressive that you could see that; you truly have a keen eye for a god.”

“Actually, I only recently discovered this myself.”

“But this isn’t something I can create just because I want to. It’s based on the two most fundamental Great Daos for creating a new universe, a new Heavenly Dao, and a new world—time and space.”

“In my homeland, there’s a saying that time and space form the basic framework of the world. On this foundation, the Five Elements, the Eight Trigrams, and various powers can emerge.”

“Other cultivators, including gods, can’t turn their inner universes into real worlds because they lack the Great Daos of time and space.”

“Do you understand?”

Huotu nodded, then fell silent.

In the end, this guy still didn’t admit whether he intended to cultivate his inner universe into a new world.

Cunning fox!

Meng Qingzhou smiled warmly:

“Now it’s my turn to ask. Just one question: How much do you know about the Heaven-Watching Pavilion? Tell me everything.”

The Heaven-Watching Pavilion?

Huotu was speechless.

Damn it, your question is too broad. It seems like one question, but it actually contains countless questions.

Seeing Huotu’s silence, Meng Qingzhou added:

“Oh right, I forgot to tell you something.”

“The Heaven-Watching Pavilion has already chosen a new Human Emperor. I bet they didn’t tell you that, and the new Human Emperor is about to unify the Sky State. When that happens, they will sweep through the Wilderness with overwhelming force and finally ascend to the throne.”

“I think, by then, you gods will have no chance of regaining your former glory.”

Hearing this, Huotu’s body trembled, and he looked up in shock, eyes filled with intense hatred.

The new Human Emperor was about to ascend, and when the “Human Emperor’s Authority” appeared, the gods would lose all hope.

Moreover, the Heaven-Watching Pavilion knew about the enmity between the Human Emperor and the gods, yet they deliberately hid the news, using him as a pawn to clear the path for the Human Emperor’s ascension.

“Is this true?” Huotu asked in a deep voice.

Meng Qingzhou shrugged, “Do I need to lie to you? Didn’t you absorb many scattered powers and broken Dao insights from the Wilderness? Oh right, the new Human Emperor is a secret, not many people know.”

“But rest assured, I have no reason to deceive you. Think about it, why would I lie? If there wasn’t a new Human Emperor chosen, why would the Heaven-Watching Pavilion go to the lengths of reviving the gods and sending you to the Wilderness?”

Huotu’s eyes flickered with uncertainty.

He recalled the beautiful human woman he had seen not long ago, who was recognized by the Wilderness’s fate as the chosen Human Emperor.

This was highly unusual. The Heavenly Dao was in a half-asleep state; it wouldn’t choose a Human Emperor unless something significant was happening.

Unless…

Someone was already paving the way for the Human Emperor’s ascension, and that woman was a pawn set by the Heavenly Dao to counter another contender for the throne.

The more he thought about it, the more it made sense.

Huotu took a deep breath and said, “Alright! I’ll tell you everything!”
