Vol.4 – Chapter 10 – Rescue from suffering and disaster, divine battle erupts

The coastal nations plunged into panic and chaos. Mountain ranges suddenly rose from the ground, carried by a giant mystical tortoise racing with a sect on its back. Nearly kilometer-long flying boats soared into the sky, and rogue cultivators flew through the air. Officials hastily removed their robes, and generals fled independently without a second thought.

Ordinary people gathered into a sea of humanity, trampling countless to death.

In an instant, the citizens of the coastal nations, including the high-ranking officials, fled towards the Great Jin Dynasty and the Western Buddhist Kingdom, hoping for salvation.

Chaos, disaster, and the collapse of order ensued.

Fear drove people to lose all reason, pushing and trampling each other. When someone was infected by a plague, they were immediately shunned, with no one caring for anyone else.

“Ancient gods are awakening. Is the end of the world coming?”

“Where are the true Buddhas of the West? Why don’t they come to save us in this time of calamity? And the Great Jin Dynasty, where is the invincible Space-Time Sword Saint?”

“They are high above, indifferent to the lives of the common people.”

The divine pressure swept across the land.

Someone looked back and was surprised to see the God of Calamity, towering tens of thousands of meters high, standing still as if communicating with someone.

Huotu’s eyes, like two blazing suns, flashed with impatience.

A thunderous voice echoed across the heavens and earth:

“The opportunity has been given. The will of the gods cannot be defied. The Great Dao of Time and Space is the Mandate of Heaven, and only gods can bear it!”

Huotu clenched his five fingers into a fist, drawing his arm like a full bow, ready to crush the ants who dared to face the divine majesty.

If this punch landed, the territories of the coastal nations would be utterly transformed.

The fleeing masses looked back in terror, their eyes filled with despair.

Buzz!

At that moment.

A figure radiated boundless brilliance, gray-white ripples of time and space spreading from his feet. Everything in his path came to a halt, and the spreading calamity was trapped, as if encountering an invisible barrier.

Huotu’s descending fist slowed, as if bound by chains. Each inch it fell, space collapsed and shattered, making it difficult even for the Time Domain to hold back.

Zheng!

A sword cry rang out as tributaries of time and space condensed into sword embryos, coming from the future and the past to the present. Each sword embryo was several kilometers long.

Splat!

Splat!

Each sword embryo pierced through Huotu’s invincible body. Before the blood could flow out, it was frozen again by the Time Domain. The golden, sacred blood, shining like gems, clung to the wounds.

Huotu now looked like a criminal subjected to extreme punishment, with dozens of sword embryos piercing his body, making movement difficult.

From head to toe, the sword blades were deeply embedded in the soil. Some pierced straight through from the right shoulder to the left rib, some stabbed into the abdomen, and others pierced through both legs and arms.

The fleeing people unconsciously stopped, no longer panicking.

Those at the back of the crowd, seeing the gray-white Time Domain barrier up close, couldn’t help but reach out to touch it, only to be blocked.

It was like a mirror, with the calamity and disaster inside looking like ferocious demons, trying to devour living beings but trapped by the Time Domain.

The distant battle waves seemed grand and magnificent, yet not a single ripple reached the outside.

A cultivator saw through the situation and spoke:

“It’s the domain of the Space-Time Sword Saint. He’s come to save us!”

“The Sword Saint is protecting our retreat, focusing his efforts on the barrier at the edge of the domain to block all the shockwaves and calamity, making it difficult to trap that god!”

Despair turned to hope, and the people wept with gratitude, their hearts and eyes filled with the sight of the tiny figure standing before the majestic god.

“Go.”

The figure seemed to turn back, his voice clear in everyone’s ears despite its softness.

“All cultivators above the Mountain Moving Realm, help the ordinary people evacuate towards the Great Jin Dynasty. There, the army will receive you.”

“Hurry!”

As soon as the words fell.

Huotu roared in fury, his roar causing the ground to undulate like water, mountains to collapse, and the laws of heaven and earth to shatter.

His fist broke free from the Time Domain’s restraints, accelerating its descent.

With each inch it fell, a sword embryo formed from the River of Time and Space would shatter, and space would explode.

Boom!!

Under this punch, the buildings of the nations turned to dust, and the land within thousands of miles was leveled. If not for the Time Domain’s barrier, the shockwaves could have caused a massive earthquake in the Western Buddhist Kingdom and the Great Jin Dynasty.

“Three Purities One Breath.”

The tiny figure split into three, each holding a sword, charging towards Huotu without hesitation.

Sword light pierced the universe, its sharp edge slicing through the void.

“Space-Time Projection.”

The three Space-Time Sword Saints split again. This time, unlike before, he summoned not others but himself from the past, future, and present!

Over a dozen Space-Time Sword Saints attacked simultaneously, demonstrating supreme principles. The Sword Sense evaporated the seawater within thousands of miles.

Despite Huotu’s massive body, his agility was not inferior. Without any divine powers, as an ancient god, each punch and kick contained supreme divine principles.

Though it took long to describe, only a few seconds had passed. The thousand-mile world within the Time Domain was thoroughly shattered, the mountains and rivers leveled, sinking into a nearly ten-thousand-meter basin. From above, it looked like a bottomless abyss.

Terrifying waves emanated from it, any stray wisp capable of destroying stars.

The scene resembled the creation of the world, gods battling in chaos, an ancient god war reappearing in the mortal realm.

The fleeing people hesitated for a few seconds, then knelt down, the endless stream of people no longer panicking. They bowed towards the battlefield in the abyss, worshiping the one who was willing to save them.

“Go! Don’t distract the Sword Saint!”

“The entire sect, turn the flying boats around and go back to assist the ordinary people. If the boats can’t hold everyone, those above the Mountain Moving Realm should use their divine powers to carry as many as possible.”

“Return for rescue.”

The mystical tortoise turned around, kneeling on the ground, with cultivators assisting people onto the mountains on its shell.

Flying boats landed, and groups of airborne figures either waved their sleeves to collect the masses or used the Divine Power of Heaven and Earth to scoop people up with their hands.

As order was restored, the great divine powers were used for rescue, and soon, the fleeing crowds began to diminish.

But the numbers were too vast. There were dozens of coastal nations, and despite many deaths, there were still too many people. Not all cultivators were willing to heed the Space-Time Sword Saint’s call; many fled without looking back.

Crack…

Crack!

Suddenly, cracks appeared in the Time Domain’s barrier. People were horrified, watching as strands of calamity seeped through the cracks, frantically devouring and slaughtering living beings.

“Big Yellow!”

“Take action!!”

A voice echoed from the abyss, the Space-Time Sword Saint’s roar.

The Big Yellow Dog reluctantly wagged its tail, but under the Blind Person’s command, it had no choice but to obey, though it preferred to guard the Great Jin and cared little for others’ lives.

“Roar!”

Big Yellow stepped forward, growing increasingly fierce and massive, its body swelling to ten thousand meters, no less than Huotu. Its back sprouted flaming wings, its visage terrifying and majestic. It opened its gaping maw, swallowing all the calamity.

Then it burped, wagged its tail, and continued squatting by the abyss, peering inside with curiosity before retracting its head:

Yikes, how scary.

Getting too close would melt you.
